Father’s Job is to Get Kids to Heaven

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Audio and Transcript - As a priest explained to me one day, your job as a father in your house is the same as my job. Your job is to get those women and children to heaven. That is your job. That is your number one job, to get them to heaven. I expounded on that by saying the other job of all the men listening to this radio show, that hopefully will turn their lives around if they haven’t already -- maybe they were already practicing it, many of us weren’t and are just getting religion here. Our job also as men is to be the leader of that household and to commit to not only getting our children and wives to heaven, but making those children responsible citizens, good, virtuous citizens. That’s your job, men. Check out the rest on today's audio and transcript...

Ghosts of Founders Past Reveal Our Future: John Taylor on Congress

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Video and Audio - Let's not pretend that everyone in the House of Representin' is fighting against the debt ceiling being raised for all the right reasons. Oh, there are certainly a few, but for the most part, it's not because they are DEFENDERS OF THE CONSTITUTION, they are doing for their own selfish reasons. But it's always been like that... well, maybe not the FIRST Congress, but very soon after that, and John Taylor of Caroline witnessed it happening. Why does it matter? Because in his book, Tyranny Unmasked, John Taylor saw our future, he witnessed what we were going to become now. If only we had listened to John Taylor, we may not be in the situation we are in now. How is the Millenial Generation Going to Fix This Mess? Will They Even Bother?

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Video and Audio - National Journal columnist Ron Fournier thinks the ObamaCare "shutdown" spells the end of the GOP, the status quo of the DNC and the rise of "millennials" but if Noah Webster were still alive, I imagine the caterwaul of four letter words he might use to describe the "millennial." Time Magazine gave the "Me Me Me" generation a cover story last May and concluded, "They’re narcissistic. They’re lazy. They’re coddled. They’re even a bit delusional. Those aren’t just unfounded negative stereotypes about 80 million Americans born roughly between 1980 and 2000. They’re backed up by a decade of sociological research." Fournier can be forgiven for not reading Time that week but there is no contrition for elevating the millennials to the Madisonian heights of "revolutionary". What is Conservatism? According to Russell Kirk It’s A Set of Principles, Not Party Politics.

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Video and Audio - Conservatism isn't about political parties or even politics in general. Simply put, it's about conserving the good things in one's life. Conserving your family, relationships with friends, culture, history, community, nature, etc. You wouldn't try to conserve the bad or evil things in your life would you? Russell Kirk gives us ten principles that we should follow as conservatives, and not too surprisingly if you listen to this show, none of them directly involve politics. They can certainly be applied to the way you think about politics, and they should, but they aren't a set a laws you must follow to be a member of the GOP. Why Does America Always Have to be the Big Old Bully?

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Video and Audio - Everyone has those friends who are just big, like REALLY big, either tall, muscular, or both... but they're nice guys. They're the type of guys that don't start fights, don't throw their weight around, don't get involved in other peoples business. So why can't the good old US of A be more like that? Why do we have to be the big angry drunk at the party who keeps yelling in everyone's faces and trying to start fights? We have the power to essentially blow any other country off the face of the map and we go around bragging about it, why? We should be more humble about our power. Other countries should look at us an example of leadership and say "hey, those Americans are cool, they have all this power and they never use it or even talk about it... and they're fun to have at parties," instead, many countries hate us because of our use of force. The REAL Story of Jefferson and the Barbary Pirates

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Audio and Transcript - I was up very late last night looking this up because I knew it was going to come up today. One of you clowns is about to call me and bring up the Barbary pirates and how Thomas Jefferson bombed them back into the stone ages, settled Tripoli for democracy and instituted a constitutional order in Libya back in 1803. Well, I have the actual story as it happened. I have it from my good friend Tom Woods who posted this about a year and a half ago, “Presidential War Powers: The Constitutional Answer” under the headline “Jefferson acted unilaterally against the Barbary pirates.” Check out today's audio and transcript for more...

If Rand Paul Is Guilty of Plagiarism… So Is Almost Every President Since George Washington

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Video and Audio - Let's not forget that almost every President since the greatest one (George Washington in case you were wondering) has had speech writers. These people are often influenced by other sources throughout history, sometimes they are quoted, cited in footnotes, sometimes they are not. It's always better to cite your sources, especially now days, when the media is ready to pounce on anyone (especially someone on the right) that they believe may be guilty of GASP... plagiarism. And as we said before, Rand was NOT presenting these views as his own, he was using a movie to compare and contrast what is going on in today's politics, nor was he taking anything out of context, which is very important when it comes to plagiarism.
