Mandeville, LA – Listener and CRUSADE Channel, Founders Pass member Richard Biancone sends the following letter and attached photo about his personal effort to return the lost to the Faith. Note that Richard is doing this hands on, not suggesting others do it. That’s how we can “take ‘Muricah back, by bringing souls back to the Faith.

Dear Mitter Church,

Credit where credit is due. I promised I was going to share something good with you. Here’s the set up –

Back before Christmas, you mentioned on air about how most fallen away Catholics fall into one of three buckets – Lukewarm at best, completely indifferent, or vigorously opposed to the Faith & The Church, and that we should pray for their return to The Church. I agree with you, and I wanted to do something about it in our parish of Our Lady of the Mountains Parish in Cumberland, Maryland.

About 2 1/2 years ago, I helped start a men’s Eucharistic Holy Hour of Adoration for the men of our parish. We use the model endorsed by Raymond Cardinal Burke and formed The Holy League of Our Lady of the Mountains. After Christmas, I spoke with the priests and parish staff about using the Holy League to serve our parish and have us pray for those fallen away members of our parish community. Our pastor, Fr. Gregory Chervenak, OFM Cap, and the pastoral team thought it was a brilliant idea. He instructed myself and our deacon, Brother Phil White, to make it happen.

Here is what we did. We have five churches in our parish and placed a box in each of them with the instructions noted in the picture. The priests made mention of the “Catholics Come Home Project” during Mass. Each second Sunday of the month, Brother Phil brings the names to The Shrine of Ss Peter and Paul where the Holy League holds our Holy Hour and the names are placed in a locked chest on the altar during Adoration. We pray The Rosary as a group and include, as a declared intention, to pray for our fallen away brothers and sisters to return to communion with The Catholic Church.

So to date, Brother said there are about 300 names in the chest. There have already been a couple of people looking into returning to The Church. The attendance for our Holy League Holy Hour also has seen some new faces. We are only two months into it, but hope does spring eternal.

Keep on Crusading!

Pax et bonum!

Nice job Richard! I leave this post open for comments and others to list similar efforts below.
