Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Video and Audio – Plagiarism, according to wikipedia, is ‘the “wrongful appropriation” and “purloining and publication” of another author‘s “language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions,” and the representation of them as one’s own original work.’  See what I did there? I quoted the source. Well, Rand Paul was giving a speech at a campaign stop for Ken Cuccinelli the other day and, although he doesn’t cite his source during his speech, he does mention the movie Gattaca before he speaks about it. Therefore he can’t be plagiarizing the movie. Nor is he presenting the ideas as his own. He is comparing the ideas presented in the movie to what is going on in today’s society with abortion, which is very relevant. But leave it to Rachel Maddow to make something out of nothing.
