I am am single parent, a mother of six, I married fr 17 yrs.
I have been a single parent for the last 9 years, yes I did get some state help but that has been paid back,( pay my debts) that is just the way I was raised.
The gas prices are so incredibly high it makes me cringe!!
but listen up, I a single parent of 3 three , young boys no less. gas prices are at an all time high, I want to blaim every one , I do, really I do! But here is the thing, we have no one to blame but ourselves, its true, it is, we as a nation have allowed it, we have not stood up in many decades!
As a nation we need to rise, it is time! for what? a REVELUTION!
It is time to tell the gOVERNMENT that they work for us and that is the way it is going to be! end of discussion!!. i know it sounds great on papaer but the doing it well that is a nother story , HUH, well there is allways hUSSIEN.
If that is the choice we make as a nation there will be no place to hide and baby that is the biblical answer not mine!! so my advise is this---
not only shut up and drill, but shut up and listen!!!
America has had enough of being controled, of being a
consumer, we are what America is, we are America, and oh by the way there is a faction that has not been considered but I would be willing to bet that there is not one who has thought of it.
Can you tell me what that and who it is? I bet there is not one talk show host that can even tell me. but there is one. and it is a very powerful entity, and I am not speaking of my Father God, as you may have thought.

Good morning all. Well I just got a letter in the mail yesterday from my Senator, Jim Inhofe (R-OK) asking for a letter or email telling my story about how high oil prices are affecting me and my family. So I will sit down today and write one. I will post it here after it is complete. I urge all other residents of Oklahoma to do the same please. Senator Inhofe's website is: http://inhofe.senate.gov/ . I would also like to urge highvalleyranch to write their Senator and Congressman and tell their story as well. Really we all should. Anyway have a good day and enjoy your weekend.

I am glad to see this going on, maybe the citizens of this great nation aren't as apathetical as we think!
With all that is going on in politics these days and with the help of talk radio\fox news\and for sure the advent of Satellite radio, I do believe that a "sleeping giant" hath awakened"
Mrs. Nazi Pelosi and her merry band of enviro-marxist, have backed themselves into a corner, and are now in a no-win situation. This IS the line in the sand, clearly the battle lines have been drawn, and we MUST keep pressure on them by supporting these brave few conservatives we have left or it is going to be over, as I have said before we have let ourselves be dragged into socialism,......Communism? I think thats where the 'sleeping giant" draws the line.
They wanna battle? BRING IT ON!
Keep the calls\emails\ letters etc going, WE ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE! Hats off to the Conservatives in Congress

Senator Inhofe,

First and foremost I would like to thank you for taking the time to gather information from your constituents about the effects of rising energy costs. My name is Gale Choffin and I live in Edmond, Oklahoma. I am a truck driver and I enjoy my job. It has provided a nice income for my wife and my children. That is until recently. I have enclosed copies of my weekly paycheck amounts that are direct deposited into my checking account at a small locally owned credit union. I have done this to illustrate how much my pay has decreased lately due to very high diesel costs. I drive for a company that is headquartered in Napa, California. However, I work for a branch of our company that is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. We have eight trucks that are based here in Oklahoma City. Most of our work is based on moving freight for a company called Metal Container Corporation. MCC is a subsidiary of Anheuser Busch.
Now that diesel costs have risen so much our small eight truck operation has had a very hard time competing with larger companies that can absorb a higher fuel rate than we can. As a result of this in the past 90 days we have lost two of our most prized freight lanes. A larger trucking company was able to win those accounts with a lower freight rate. Now I know that this is capitalism at work and the system is working like it is supposed to, but at some point this will begin to harm my family in more than just my paycheck. Let me explain. Because I work for such a small branch of our company, my dispatcher is able to really focus on each of our driver’s needs. That means our dispatcher is able to coordinate our home time so that it is advantageous to both the driver and the company. At some point, the company’s needs will have to come first in order to stay profitable. I can fully understand that. My company is in the trucking business to make money, not cater to my needs. They will stay profitable at the cost of my time with my wife and family by keeping me out on the road longer, looking for better paying loads. To me, this is unacceptable and harmful to my family. Not only will I be making less money than I was just one year ago, but I will be seeing my family much less.
I feel that it is unfair that I, a citizen of the United States of America must pay a price for someone else’s ideology. It seems to me that 330 million Americans are being held hostage by a small group of stubborn, ill informed zealots in Washington D.C. I would like to quote John Hofmeister, former president of Shell Oil. He said “thirty years of prohibiting offshore drilling is not an energy policy. It is a depravation of policy.” I couldn’t agree with that statement more. Politicians running on 2, 4, or 6 year cycles can make all the promises in the world, but those promises will never change my reality. That reality is if we do not bring more hydrocarbons to market very soon many Americans just like me will be faced with loss of income, loss of employment or worse. Now is the time to act sir. It will take as little as a few months in some areas that already have an infrastructure to handle increased oil production to bring that oil to market. It will take years in some areas that do not currently have any oil handling infrastructure. Either way, when the world realizes that we, as a country are serious about becoming energy independent, the price of crude will begin to drop dramatically. That sir, will have an immediate, positive effect on America’s economy.
Another huge and positive benefit of working towards energy independence will be increasing our national security. If we are no longer slaves to nefarious dictators and Kings in far off foreign lands, we won’t have to bend to their will. Right now China and Russia are buying the rights to every complex hydrocarbon they can find world wide. I sir, do not want to have to grovel before those two countries in the future for a resource we have in plentiful amounts here on our own shores. I would like to think that you as well would rather stand and face these emerging powers rather than greet them on bended knee. Yet another point to make is which country, in the search for oil and gas, will be more environmentally responsible America, Russia or China? That sir is a very easy question to answer.
In closing, I feel that the actions of our elected officials over the next few months will have resounding effects for the rest of my life. Please Senator, I urge you to share my letter with your honorable colleagues if you think it will influence their decisions concerning oil production in this country. I also implore you sir to do all that you can to increase the domestic production of oil and natural gas here in America. Please sir, for my family and yours.

I am sure that is one letter that his colleagues WILL indeed see.
It is a shame that we have to even do this. You would think these guys already feel the same way, altho them saying it is one thing, bringing proof(like your letter) to the table is a good way to back up their point.
I do think Nazi Pelosi has backed her self into a corner on this one that she is gonna regret.I see this as a no-win situtation for dems this fall.

Thanks fred I do appreciate the input. I think Pelosi is actually going to put the republicans in a no win situation with this drilling moratorium. I'm afraid she is going to attach a bunch of BS and pork to it so that either way they vote, we lose. Either thru huge spending on pork and BS or by voting down oil exploration. If that's the case I think the old hag is smarter than we are giving her credit for and that's bad. I really hope I'm wrong.
