It takes a village... of Fathers (Jena 6 Commentary) |

First off, let me preface this by the Jena 6 got a raw deal.
Now, the whole media hoopla, national protest, and comparisons to the Civil Rights Movement in the 60s is ridiculous. This protest isn't going to do anything to better the situation of black Americans.
Where are all these thousands of protesters while New Orleans is logging a black on black murder every 1.8 days? Where are the protests in Jacksonville and Baltimore where black on black murder is reaching epidemic proportions?
Should the outrage of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson really be focused in Jena where no black people were hurt, or do you think it would be more effective if they addressed the fact that almost half of all murder victims last year were black, and 93% of them were murdered BY blacks?
But no. Real leaders do not point the finger and blame others. Here's the real solution...
The best solution for all of this is for people to raise their children right. The problems are not going to go away, because the racism wand is waved. When 67% of black kids are born outside of marriage, Daddy support is needed, not child support. The father needs to be present. We’re missing out on parents! That is what is missing here, even Stevie Wonder can see that.
You’ve got people dying in amazing numbers, and even the clergy can’t point the finger where it belongs. People need to stand up for that. Bill Cosby is talking about the same things I’ve said, and he is right. People are criticizing Cosby for “acting too white.” So what!? He is right about what he says.
Great Societies should aspire to the Greatest Living Conditions for their people. It is undeniable that the best living condition for a child is to have a loving Mother AND a Father, the ol' two heads are better than one thing holds true. This is especially true with boys who are getting ignored and feminized in schools causing further erosion of masculine value and virtue.
I asked my friends out there in the listening audience who are young black men "Tell me how we move beyond the blame game and fix this, I want answers not accusations". And they told me. “Stop the illegitimate baby factories, stop the encouragement of nomadic gangsta life. Hold up and praise young black men who are doing the right thing, holding their families together, taking responsibility for that child they helped create.” Well Said
Stop telling those young women they don't need a baby daddy because they have WIC and Welfare and Food Stamps. Tell them that beautiful power they have to make children is to be shared with a young man, we call him a husband. Our Clergy can do this, listen to them. Our mayors can say this: listen to them. Our entertainers can stop buying Hummers, spinning rims and pounds of gold chains and invest in some Big Brothers (not to be confused with Big Bruthas).
You want discrimination rallies? well here's one: 68% of black children will bear the discrimination of not having access to a Dad. Rally on that point Marc Morial. 58% of Hispanic children will suffer the discrimination of being denied a Padre, a Father, March for Amnesty from illegitimacy Mayor Villaraigosa.
38% of "The Mans" children will have to learn to be racists, bigots and sexists without the help of a Father, scream at Lynne Cheney about THAT Eminem. My good friend Angela McGlowan author of "Bamboozled" has written an entire book about this juvenile Ponzi Scheme. Read it and keep it on your kitchen table. It makes all too much common sense which is rare today as a Rapper driving a Woody full of his own kids.
This Nation should have grown weary of the most vocal among us making millions of billions of dollars by screaming about the freedom to make children miserable or miserable children. Grow Up. Stop.
Bill Cosby and Angela McGlowan are talking now, are you listening?
Readers have left 2 comments. 1. Untitled Robert St. Louis, Registered Mike I listen to Patriot 144 every weekday from Bill to Cam. I am 25 years old and I have been forced to do a lot of reading on the Jena six because my friend base was obsessed with them. Of everyone I have listened to, your take on the situation is the most original and dead on I have heard. Many say your a radical but I listen to your show above all because when you speak you read my mind. 2. Untitled Jimmy Monceaux, Registered Mike if the Jena situation had been reversed do you think that we would have seen any one defending the 6 white boys? My thought is that we would have had Jackson and Sharpton in town wanting to know why not all 6 are still in jail. |
