Democrats Blame Republicans for Their Shortcomings in Congress...
Sure, it's easy to cast the opposing party as obstructionists, but when a full one third (17 of 51) of your own party votes AGAINST your immigration plan, it's time to face the music. Had those 17 dissenters held ranks with the party line, the bill would've passed, so it's nothing short of a lie to blame the Republicans for that defeat. They will still claim they have the mandate of the American people, even though public outrage shut down the Senate switchboard both times their amnesty plan hit the floor.

Still reeling from the public outcry against their amnesty bill and plagued by approval ratings lower than the President, the Democrat leaders on Capitol Hill blame the Republicans for their inability to accomplish their campaign promises. Aside from a raise in minimum wage, the Democrats have yet to accomplish any of their campaign platform from the 2006 election, despite having control of the House and Senate.
