Studio D Tour 2007 The King Dude walks you through your own personal visit of Studio D,
the home of The Mike Church Show, by New Orleans. The Origin of Studio D
Every now and again I come up with a decent idea,
and the latest one is moving (finally) the studios of America?s most
listened to satellite radio show into a deserving home. Thus, the idea
of what we have begun calling, ?Studio D,? was born. Studio D will be a
state of the art multimedia facility that will carry the Mike Church
Show to new and cutting edge heights.
Studio D will open up the world of television, Dude
TV if you will, to the Red, White & Dude Nation and, of course,
bring the radio show kicking and screaming into the new millennium. I
designed Studio D from the ground up, and insisted that we will build
an area where listeners can stop by, watch the show while lounging in a
manly sized leather couch, smoke an El Rey Dude Cigar and take in the
atmosphere of Studio D.
Studio D proves to be a huge undertaking and will
cost the collective fortunes of all my unborn children. I have paid for
much of the facility myself, but to take it all the way to the next
state of the art level, I had a decision to make. I could:
a. Seek investors to capitalize the venture and run the risk of compromising our independence, or
b. Make Studio D a part of Red, White & Dude Nation lore by asking
for individual donations from listeners, in exchange for immortalizing
each and every one of you on the floor of the Dude Lounge itself.
We chose option b, yet if we must, option a will be revisted.
We have contracted a company that will personalize
the porcelain floor tiles for each and every donor, which will make
your name a permanent part of Studio D. I realize many of you will
wonder if I?ve lost my mind over this, but my reasoning is that a small
piece of ownership in something, as revolutionary and unique as the
Mike Church Show, has an intrinsic value. How many radio or TV stations
are actually made of memorabilia from the audience they serve? Think of
how cool for the thousands of Dudes that will visit the Dude Lounge,
and see your name and message permanently engraved on the floor, much
like Dudes named ?Cooter? have their brass plaques engraved on a piece
of their regular watering hole's bar.
I offer you my gratitude in advance for even reading
this far, and will no doubt be amazed and awed at the reaction and
generosity of America?s greatest radio audience. Studio D will be a
reality on March 1 and with your help, it will set the standard by
which other studios are judged.
Yours in Manliness,
KingDude
