Begin Mike Church Show Transcript

Mike:  By the bye, how many of you have seen the internet memes now that have been appearing all over the place showing lions with their paws up, “Don’t shoot, don’t shoot!” to mimic or mock the other acts of teenagers roaming the streets of Baltimore and Ferguson, Missouri?  How many of you have seen the ones where – I saw a couple of them yesterday, Mrs. Church showed them to me, where there were children dressed up in little lion costumes for Halloween or something to that effect with the caption, “If I dress like a lion, now will you care about me?”  How about lions dressed up as “All lion lives matter”?

Then we have this.  I’d like to read this to you.  This from the Reuters news agency, under the headline of, “’What lion?’ Zimbabweans ask, amid global Cecil circus.”  I linked to the story in today’s Pile of Prep.  You have to see the story.  At the top of the page, there’s a photograph of a police officer walking his canine dog in full canine regalia, full canine sartorial adornment.  The dog looks like a bomb sniffing dog.  Ok, Mike, so what?  Where is the dog sniffing for bombs?  You can read the caption.  The caption will tell you the canine is sniffing for bombs that may have been put inside little stuffed animal lions.  I’ll read you the caption, “A K-9 Unit Bloomington Police dog sniffs at stuffed animals blocking the doorway of River Bluff Dental clinic in protest against the killing of a famous lion in Zimbabwe, in Bloomington, Minnesota on July 29, 2015.”

The dog is trying to determine whether or not some maniac, some lion lover has placed a bomb that will kill and maim humans inside one of the little stuffed animals that’s blocking the doorway of the clinic of the gentleman who is the subject of the media circus and of the misplaced moral outrage over the killing of Cecil the lion.  Just ponder that for a moment.  There’s more outrage and more actual repeated threats of violence being hurled at the dentist that shot the stupid lion in Zimbabwe than there is over what you just heard from the Clinton News Network on Friday.  Does this sink in with anyone anymore?  Here’s the story from Reuters:

[reading]

As social media exploded with outrage this week at the killing of Cecil the lion, the untimely passing of the celebrated predator at the hands of an American dentist went largely unnoticed in the animal’s native Zimbabwe. [Mike: In other words, Zimbabweans don’t even know this happened.”]

“What lion?” acting information minister Prisca Mupfumira asked in response to a request for comment about Cecil, who was at that moment topping global news bulletins and generating reams of abuse for his killer on websites in the United States and Europe.

The government has still given no formal response, and on Thursday the papers that chose to run the latest twist in the Cecil saga tucked it away on inside pages.

One title had to rely on foreign news agency copy because it failed to send a reporter to the court appearance of two locals involved.

In contrast, the previous evening 200 people stood in protest outside the suburban Minneapolis dental practice of 55-year-old Walter Palmer, calling for him to be extradited to Zimbabwe to face charges of taking part in an illegal hunt.

Local police are also investigating death threats against Palmer, whose location is not known.

[end reading]

Mike:  The guy is in hiding because he killed a lion.  The abortion doctors are sipping wine and munching down on tapas at fancy, swanky restaurants.  What is their craft?  What do they kill?  Who did they kill?
