Apparently Douthat has also been isntructed to (as have I) “get back to bashing Obama.” “I’ll have a final, hopefully interesting but perhaps-less-controversial thought about the synod up later on today, and then the midterms loom, and my commentary here will probably take a turn for the secular, no doubt to some readers great relief.”

I have been a listener to your show for a couple of years now. During that time, I have to say, you have educated me in many aspects of our constitution and the founding of our once upon a time republic. At times my opinions on current events have differed with yours, but usually we are of the same mindset. When you first started infusing religion into your shows I have to say I probably was like a lot of people and wished you would stick to politics and not digress into topics of faith. As time went on, however, I started to see that your efforts to show how our personal morals and the moral platform of our country as a whole are the base on which our system of government relies. I now try to look at our current condition with a view to the morality of the actions our overseers, and we as a people, are acting upon. Our society has definitely degraded over the last several decades, and seems to be crumbling at an ever faster pace. I now see that the primary reason for this degrading situation is the continuing loss of moral standards of our society. As I tell my children now, if we as a society are openly debating the legitimacy of a partial birth abortion and the equal value of a gay marriage with that of a normal heterosexual marriage, then perhaps it is time to dissolve this union. Our loss of morals by our ever increasing desire to remove God and His laws and teachings from our daily lives and our institutions has left us without any footing on which to stand to exercise the freedoms given to us by our founders when this country was created. Don’t give up on your efforts to infuse God and morality into the discussions of our current political and societal situations. You have certainly changed my views on what our real problems are, and I am sure you have had the same affect on many others. Thank you

Thanks for your kind words of encouragement. What many people don’t seem to consider when they pass critical judgement on my mixing “religion” into the discussions about “politics” is that, as I have conclusively shown dozens of times per week, the current American government IS A RELIGION. And it has no qualms in enforcing its code of conduct on the parish members (me and you). What is even more shocking to me though is that the First Church of Lincoln ACTUALLY uses its moral code to justify the murder of children. It uses it’s “moral authority” to justify it’s never-ending unJust wars and the killing of thousands of innocents. It uses it’s “moral authority” to create then enforce a speech code that if contravened can cost you life and property.
It uses its “moral authority” to create then enforce a remaking of the term “privacy” which is now reduced to whatever the NSA says it is. Which poses a more grave threat to human life in North America, the American government of the Roman Catholic Church? To hear today’s hateful heretics talk, even the existence of the Church in Rome makes the world less safe. Less safe for what!?
