This Day in Founding Founders History - Where we bring you important dates in the lives and history of the Founding Generation. On this day in 1776, an address had been drafted by committee and was presented to the Continental Congress, check out today's Founding Fathers History to find out what it said.
Mandeville, LA - Church Doctrine - The British Parliament is made up of two houses, the House of Lords and the House of Commons. There are currently 650 members of Parliament or MP’s in the House of Commons1. The Commons are supposed to be representative of the people and when they were recently asked to defy the people and vote “aye” on a resolution to join the United States in bombing Syria’s legitimate government back “to the stone ages” they voted “nay”.
Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Video and Audio - What are the real motives in Syria? Are they oil? That's doubtful, we get oil from plenty of other sources and it's "just" one commodity. So what else is going on here? Well, let's look at a bit of history. Look at some of the other great empires throughout history: The Romans, The Spanish, and The British mainly. Where are they now? None of them have the status and global dominance they once did. The American Empire will try and keep spreading democracy to all ends of the globe (and the ice world of Hoth) so that it will never have the same fate as the Romans, Spaniards, or Brits. Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Video and Audio - In today's Founder's TV, Mike tells us about the man Paul Revere, not the story you've heard hundreds of times. He was a man of strong character, an artisan, and a silversmith who was a Bostonian. From raw lumps of metal he created immortal works of art. He may have looked a little bit like Santa Claus as he was getting into his mid-30's as he was putting on a little weight. He was an intelligent observer who sees much and misses little. For more on Paul Revere be sure and check out today's Founders TV and sign up for a Founders Pass if you don't already have one...
Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Video and Audio - Be sure and check out today's Founders TV as Mike compares and contrasts British Tories (who are probably not as evil as you think from "1776, Revolution, killing Americans" time) to modern day conservatives. We also go over what conservatives in the 1950s should have been studying: William F Buckley or go back to the teachings of Edmund Burke? Many Conservative Americans of the time didn't feel like they were descended from an English-man like Burke, but his writing were very influential to many of the Founders, including James Madison.
