If St. Augustine Could Be Forgiven, Why Not Mark Sanford?

Contains Exclusive: Transcript Topics: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – Mark Sanford hasn’t done anything that Ted Kennedy didn’t do. As a matter of fact, Mark Sanford is a wannabe when it comes to the peccadillos of the Kennedy clan. This idea here that you can’t be some manner of an illicit human being and hold a job or position in our magisterial federal government, I think, is ridiculous. Marketplace Intervention By The State Causes Healthcare Inflation

Contains Exclusive: Transcript Topics: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – Who is to say, without government mandate that a health insurance company must cover this, cover mental health, cover reproductive services, hangnails, whatever else they say you must cover, who is to say that any of the things that prolong life or are beneficial to the human condition and to our health are based on the price mechanism? The only way you would develop these things is if people could afford to pay for them. Check out….Continue

Even St. Augustine Didn't Trust Government

Contains Exclusive: Audio, Transcript Topics: , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – If you’re going to have any chance for survival, you’re going to have to have some foundational things that everyone can agree on and you can build societies and civilizations around, that there’s no disagreement on, or very little disagreement on. Therefore you have a nucleus around which to rally. What is that nucleus today, Twitter? Facebook? What’s the nucleus, the latest immorality of th….Continue

Legislating Morality - Whose Morals Do We Use?

Contains Exclusive: Transcript Topics: , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – I think we’re already legislating some horrific strains of morality by making it permissive or by allowing others to be basically conscripted in the act of taking another human life. If you live in any state where the state provides any manner of support, in any way, shape or form, for the ghastly practice of abortion, you’re basically being conscripted in what you view and what you believe to be a ….Continue

Separation Of Church And State - Gay Marriage Is A Dangerous Precedent

Contains Exclusive: Transcript Topics: , , , , , , , ,

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – Don’t throw God in there, Hillary. You want to talk about unbelievable slippery sloped dangerous precedents, start compelling organized religions to perform those ceremonies and see where that leads you to. Are you going to then build prisons for priests? “Yeah, he refused to perform one of those homosexual marriage ceremonies, so he violated the Be Nice to Gay People Act of 2016. We threw him in the slammer. He’ll be there t….Continue

Interview With Tom Woods On Tradition, Catholicism, And Pope Francis I

Contains Exclusive: Transcript Topics: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – We’ve been having a very robust discussion. Of course, I have fielded calls from the usual suspects who demand to know why there is a Catholic Church. You guys are just after power. You’re a bunch of power-hungry people. The pope is a king. It’s the Roman Empire, not the Roman Catholic Church. Tell the folks a little bit about Sacred Then and Sacred Now and how that would apply to what we saw yesterday and what we may see….Continue

Michael Brendan Dougherty: Pope Francis Maintaining The Status Quo

Contains Exclusive: Transcript Topics: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – I keep hearing the news yesterday about there’s 1.2 billion Catholics around the world. That number was larger. That number was larger a decade ago. That number is shrinking. It’s certainly shrinking in the United States. Why? They keep becoming more progressive. They keep adding things that make the Church more, in American political speak you would say liberal. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…….Continue

The New Pope - Keeping With Tradition Or Changing With The Times?

Contains Exclusive: Transcript Topics: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – We have to have an anarchist atheist express a devoutly traditional Catholic point of view on CNN to get one out there. There’s Penn Jillette promoting a book called Every Day Is An Atheist Holiday making more sense than almost anyone that I’ve seen talk about this. Why hasn’t Penn Jillette ever been on this show? It seems that he and I would hit it off fabulous. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…….Continue

Stop Bending The Roman Catholic Church To Fit An Immoral Society

Contains Exclusive: Transcript Topics: , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – When it comes to the actual Catholic faith, the Roman Catholic faith, there are some of us that believe it ought to actually be Roman Catholic. If I wanted to go to a Protestant church, I’d go to one. I don’t. Of course, as I said, this is to be expected from these people. If CNN and NBC and the rest of the media had its way, we would have a female, lesbian, atheist pope. That’s who they’d nominate. Check out today’s ….Continue

The Purging Of Tradition And Moral Order

Contains Exclusive: Transcript Topics: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Transcript - Folks, that’s a reflection of all the things we talk about. Isn’t it just another of the latest examples of our purge of tradition and our purge of true moral order and code? We don’t have a code. You make it up as you go along. If it’s inconvenient or it might cost you a couple of shekels, you just bail. You just abandon it for pure selfish reasons. It’s tragic and sad. Check out today's tra….Continue

Complaining Is A Multi-Billion-Dollar Industry

Contains Exclusive: Transcript Topics: , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Transcript - The idea that we consistently complain about all the imperfections that are around us, that are part of the vicissitudes of life is another one of these things that “conservatives” are going to have to come to grips with sooner or later. Just continuing to complain, all that does is make complaining a world-class industry. It’s a multi-billion dollar industry, the complaining industry. Check out toda….Continue

Contains Exclusive: Transcript Topics: , , , , , , , ,

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Transcript - Our government is now involved in the process of life and death, basically in deciding who lives and who dies at creation and afterwards, while still a part of the young woman. All the while, it’s subsidizing and by law bringing all of this into effect. Does this sound like something out of a horror movie, something out of a dystopian future that you would go to the cinema to watch in horror on screen and then pray and hope it never ….Continue

Correction: The History of the Catholic Church, Presented On-Air Today, Edited & Corrected

Topics:

Mandeville, LA - On today's show I recollected a conversation with my daughter Madison over the history of the Christian faith and the evolution of the Catholic & Lutheran Church. I received several responses from listeners who gently persuaded me that i had some of my history and chronology in error. I happily, in the pursuit of the truth in all matters of history, present the following note as a  correction of the history I presented on-air and welcome further contribut….Continue

Was Secession A Constitutional Right? 1868 Book Concluded It Was. "It was in 1833, for the frst time in the history of the country, that it was solemnly asserted and argued, that the Constitution of the 'United States was not a compact between the States. This new doctrine simultaneously put forth, by Mr. Justice Story in his "Commentaries on the Constitution of the 'United States," and by Mr. Daniel Webster in "the greatest intellectual effort of his life," that is, in his great speech in the Senate of the I6th of February, 1833. In order to show that the Constitution is not a compact between the States, the position is assumed, that it is not a compact at all. If it be a compact, say they, then the States had a right to secede. But it is not a compact; and hence secession is treason and rebellion. The great fundamental questions, then, on which the whole controversy hinges are, first, Is the Constitution a compact? and, secondly, Is it a compact between the States?" - Albert Bledsoe, Was Secession A Constitutional Right (1868)
