"Facebook has married the Shazam technology, although they claim it’s their own, with their own mobile app. For those of you that think it’s necessary to fill the rest of the world in on what -- like my brother, for example, who thinks everyone needs to know every move he makes. It’s like a Police song, [singing] “Every move you make…” Everywhere the boy goes, he’s got to announce it to the world via Facebook. There’s going to be a problem with that now."

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Video and Audio - Some people seem to think that with the passage of Obamacare (the Affordable Care Act) that the end of the world is coming, and coming soon! There seems to be an incredible despair out there... or at least on Facbook, Twitter, and other news shows. It's getting to where Obamacare is seriously affecting people's day to day lives, how they interact with their families and friends, this cannot be healthy folks. Now, we're not saying that we agree with Obamacare, in fact, there's still other options out there... such an Article V Convention and of course Secession. So the sky isn't falling chicken little, keep your head up!

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – I thought when I got this that this was one of those it looks like a story but it’s actually an ad. You know what I’m talking about? They try to get you to click them by making them look like stories when they’re advertisements. The first time I saw it, I ignored it. Second time I saw it, I was actually at TownHall, because I had actually clicked on one of the other stories yesterday. I saw it was an actual story and went: Hmm, funeral selfies, really? Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – Your bloodlust for your fellow citizens’ blood is sick, it really is. It is sick. You are morally bankrupt in your sickness. The act of secession comes from the Latin word secedere, look it up. What does secedere mean? It means to withdraw. I am going to secedere to the bathroom. I’m going to withdraw to the bathroom. It has nothing to do with a war. It’s not a part of war. It is a simple act of withdrawing from an agreement. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Video and Audio - So what do the people of Scotland do all the time if they're not checking Facebook, Twitter, tumblr, etc on their smartphone all day? Well, maybe they're talking to their neighbor, meeting new people in real life, or actually doing work with their hands. In Scotland the people don't talk about politics 24/7 like we do here in the States, they prefer to discuss the finer points of rugby and soccer. We could learn a lot from the Scots. It's nice to take a break from national politics and go meet your neighbor, enjoy your work, and go to a local baseball or soccer game. Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Video and Audio - The Internal Revenue Service is now saying they can read your e-mail, your private messages on site like Twitter and Facebook, and your text messages... all without a warrant. How can they do this you ask? Well, they're citing the 1986 Electronic Privacy Act, where you only need a subpoena, that doesn't need to be issued by a judge, and covers any "mail" already opened or older than 180 days. And of course they couldn't haven't known about text messages or Facebook or Twitter so they're just assuming that they have the power to cover that also. So why is no one in Congress throwing a fit about this? Find out in today's Founders TV and be sure and sign up for a Founders Pass if you don't already have one.

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – In our enlightened age here, we seem to have convinced ourselves, or many people have tried to convince themselves, that technology is actually the work of the future and that’s all that is needed. No one will have to grow our food. No one will have to milk the cows. No one will have to figure out how to get the water from point A to point B. We won’t have to go through any of the things we go through today because technology will replace all those things. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Transcript - I think the challenge for the future of that particular body of movement is to move beyond the electronic media and get into actually doing things, get into actually meeting face to face. Meeting face to face has its advantages. Meeting face to face and trying to find if there is any common ground when you’re not blabbing on endlessly on Facebook is a challenge. Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Video and Audio - Brad Birzer has an article at The Imaginative Conservative entitled "Reflections on A Republic Divided to the Point of Collapse". In the article, Brad makes the point that our nation has always been divided, much as it is now, and the only time that men from different parts of the country truly work together is when they must sacrifice themselves for the good of the nation, like in a time of war. We're not sure if Brad is trying to make the point that today people need to get out from behind their computers, stop watching Fox News, and actually get out there and do something or not, but it seems that way. "My point is simply this: pop culture is the smog in which we must live at least part of our lives. We have no choice but to face it, now and again, if only to keep track of where it will strike next."

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Transcript - Of all my readings before the modern media age, of the great men that went before and those that are great -- and we know because of their deeds -- you don’t find any of this. Number one, it didn't exist, but the 17th, 18th, and 19th century antecedents or forms of it didn't exist. Were there men that were famous? Yeah, they were famous, but they were famous specifically because of their deed. Check out today's transcript for the rest...

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Transcript - Consider what it is that the internet does. It desensitizes people to human concerns. You would not yell at your fellow man, in person, in the manner and would not call him or her the names. You would not insult their heritage, their parents, their children, their neighbors. Ninety-nine percent of what is done online that continually desensitizes and coarsens our discourse, cheapens it and makes it more unintelligent than it already is would not be done in person. You would not do that if the man was sitting across from you. Check out the rest in today's transcript...

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Audio and Transcript - So I’ve turned to reading some older conservative authors. One of them is a gentleman by the name of Eric Voegelin. Voegelin was a mentor to Russell Kirk. I think that in Voegelin’s book Science, Politics and Gnosticism, which is a really small book, at one part of it he identifies what is really at work here. This has to be transcribed because you have to read this. It’s posted as a comment in one of my posts. I also posted part of this as a post on the fan page on Facebook. I want you to listen to his and keep an open mind. Think about what Voegelin is writing here way back in 1968.
