This Day in Founding Fathers History - Where we bring you important dates in the lives and history of the Founding Generation. One notable birthday on this day in 1944, that of a well-known libertarian, non-interventionist student of Austrian economic theory and supporter of former Congressman Ron Paul, Lew Rockwell.

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – Before we move any further with this, I want to go back to November the 12th. Today’s the 25th. That’s a little shy of two weeks. I want to revisit with Patrick J. Buchanan. He was writing about this exact subject. It was known back then that Kerry and company were trying to negotiate some kind of deal with the Iranian mullahs. I saw a mention of this on Breitbart’s website last week, something to the effect that Buchanan trusts Iran more than he trusts Israel. I don’t read that at all. Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Video and Audio - It's true that every country spies on each other in some form or another, but not to the extent that the NSA is doing. And aren't other countries supposed to look up to us as the standard of freedom and liberty throughout the world? So what does it tell everyone when the NSA is out there collecting e-mails and texts from France, Japan, and Germany? It tells them that spying has become the norm, that people no longer mind having their data mined. Hopefully other countries WON'T follow our lead this time. Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Video and Audio - What is the purpose of the NSA spying on countries like France, Germany, and Japan? Well, it all comes back to our foreign (interventionist) policy where we feel like we must know everything that is going on in the world and if one of these countries does something that we don't like, well we've already got it documented. But think about this, what if it happened in your personal life? How would you feel if your friends or family spied on you? Would you want to keep up your relationship with them? Probably not. Then why does the NSA keep spying on our foreign friends? We can find out SOME of what's going on in those countries another, much simpler way... by asking. For more on this be sure and check out today's Founders TV and sign up for a Founders Pass if you haven't already!

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – In reflecting on what was happening in France in the French Revolution -- Burke was a cosmopolitan kind of guy, so he was an admirer of other countries and of other cultures. He was an admirer of the French. No one wanted to see what happened in France happen. Burke was one of the few that had the intellectual as well as spiritual knowledge and intellect to be able to respond in a manner that would stand the test of time. Mandeville, LA - Church Doctrine - On 5 March, 1836 Colonel William Barrett Travis famously drew a line in the sand at the Alamo, asking for volunteers to cross the line with him and defend the fort or stand their ground and flee to safety. Of the 180 men gathered not one took the option to flee. Fast forward to today, 230 Congressmen have voted to “defund” the moral and Constitutional atrocity that is ObamaCare, they are being threatened with their legislative lives. Some Congressional leaders have drawn a line in the taxpayer sludge of the House floor, asking members to stay and defend that vote, like the Alamo, I’m certain the effort will fail, but if the Country and the GOP have any prayer of reversing the rise of Nanny State, they must hold the line ‘til the end of the session next November if that’s what it takes.

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – My understanding of the Tsarnaev brothers is that they came here with their father in 2003 and then asked for and were recognized as having sought political asylum. They did not want to be returned back to Chechnya or Dagestan, which is the country they were actually from. They asked us for asylum and were granted it. As the story showed, one applied for citizenship and it was granted, and the other was in the process of applying for it. It wouldn’t be fair to say that these two came in under the usual process by which someone immigrates here. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – There are less-than-scantily-clad young women of your age who were protesting. I have the story here. Apparently some woman who is a Tunisian nudist artist, whatever that is, was told by the Islamic clerisy there that she could not be a nudist artist anymore. These women, Femen is what they go under the name of, decided to hold a protest outside of the Tunisian Embassy in France. Check out today’s audio and transcript for the rest…

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Audio and Transcript - So what the president is saying, what French President Francois Hollande is saying is that government knows best. “Let me tell you, you hoi polloi, you nitwittery…French Riviera are not capable of teaching the finer points of ze classical education to ze little boys and little girls of gay Paris.” So what he’s basically saying is that only the state can do this. That is exactly opposite. That is backwards, precisely backwards. As a matter of fact, yesterday on my video commentary for the local ABC channel, there’s a big hoop-dee-doo going on here in Louisiana because Governor Jindal is actually saying, one of the things he’s doing partially correct, is saying to the people of Louisiana: We are putting too many resources and too many children into our college system. They don’t need to be here. Check out the rest in today's audio and transcript...

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Transcript - Claes Ryn is a professor of history at Catholic University in D.C. He’s been on the show before. He is well versed in American history, brilliant man when it comes to the intellectual basis of what we call conservatism, and there is an intellectual basis for it, although these days it’s difficult to find, but it is out there. At one point in time, it was this intelligence and this intellectual discourse that provided the backstop and the brake to progressivism, which you call today liberalism. Today, in its current incarnation, it amounts to a bunch of fake patriotic jingoism. Jingoism just means somebody says, “Yeah, we ought to do that. Groupthink is great.” Groupthink is never good. It is never good to surrender individual critical thinking to the group. You must always think critically and intellectually. Those that didn’t think intellectually back two centuries ago were the French and in their little revolutions. How’d that work out for them? France is still a basket case of economic misery and political socialism, still, even after we supposedly liberated it from Hitler and from the Nazis. What the hell happened?
