Senator Mike Lee, Talking True Conservative Sense And Reason

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – This story here in The Atlantic, Mike Lee, talking about how the GOP has got to part with spin and personality. Well, now, Lee is wise to say this because spin and personality are what? What is that? That’s sophistry. It means nothing. All it does is allow people to use the term “conservative” to personally and monetarily benefit from it. In other words, it’s nothing more than a marketing slogan. He’s right. If You Want Demagoguery And GOP Party Lines, You Won’t Get It With Mike Church

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – One of the notes I got yesterday was just hysterical. I want to spend the first segment of the program here, the first couple moments, discussing not Senator Cruz but what it is that we’re doing here on a daily basis and how it applies to you. The perception out there -- I don’t seem to be able to control this. I don’t want to control it. I don’t seem to be able to alter the course of the following discussion. Because the course cannot be altered, I have to deal with the course that has been laid out. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

The Haunting Pasts Of Politicians – No One Is Squeaky Clean

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – Do we all have to start vetting all of our friends? We might need the NSA to start spying on our friends. Hey, NSA, I want to know, am I affiliated with anyone right now that has ever uttered a racist word? Do I know someone who’s ever said the N-word? Do I know anyone that’s ever said a cross thing about old, honest Abraham Lincoln or anyone else? Hey, do I know anyone that has ever dared to criticize Martin Luther King, Jr.? Will We Eventually Cleanse The Currency Too?

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – We know that George Washington had friends and close associates that owned slaves. I demand that the U.S. Treasury -- as a matter of fact, I want a giant crane with a five-ton wrecking ball on the end of it to smash that thing called the Washington Monument. That thing needs to come down. Washington had friends that were slave owners. He had relatives that were slave owners. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Are You A True Follower Of The Founding Fathers Or Just Going With The Crowd?

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – Back to this “Plague of Republican Ignorance” piece and the general theme, what Mr. Egerer is writing about is the fact that if you really desire this relationship, this monogamous relationship with the founding fathers, wouldn’t it behoove you to actually at least attempt to study what it was that they studied? Why Was There a Constitution Called For?

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Transcript - What it takes to be a constitutional expert today is to have gone to a law school on the East Coast, it’s as simple as that, and to have had some professor profess to teach the subject. What they actually teach, if they teach at all, is they teach Supreme Court history. It’s not really Constitution history; it’s Supreme Court history. Constitution history is a fairly straightforward field of study. If one were to undertake a field of exploration in constitutional matters, then you would start with my docudrama, Fame of Our Fathers, and you would first answer the question “Why?” Read more in today's transcript...

We Have To Educate Ourselves As Did The Founders If We Want A New Generation Of Founding Fathers

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – I think reading some of the great works of the latter part of the 18th century and early part of the 19th century, I think that’s a good place to start. One of the things that I’m learning as I continue to learn and study about this stuff, one of the things I learned is: Who did Madison read? Who was Jefferson reading? Jefferson carried some books around with him in a little leather satchel. I know what two of them were. Have you ever pondered the question of what Jefferson or Madison or Taylor or Henry -- I also know what Henry read -- or Washington may have read? Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Faith Carried The Founding Fathers Through And It Can Carry Us Through, Too

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – The only way you can really stay the course, I think anyway, is through the exercise of your faith. Just know that this is part of my Lord’s plan for me. I have to execute the difficult parts, as well as the happy parts, with equal fervor and equal cheer, and just be of the belief that this was as it was intended to be. Who am I to say no to the challenge? Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Americans Lack Imagination For Things Like iPad Schools And Secession

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – I just think people should explore the possibilities, should not be wed to this jingoistic nationalism that we all must be wed to, and ought to think about what’s best for us and our children in your region, where it is you live, where it is that your community is. If it’s not membership in this union that spies on you and taxes you and harasses you and undermines your moral and cultural traditions, then leave it. What exactly is the hang-up about leaving it? America Wasn’t Magically Created in 1776

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Video and Audio - There was an America and an American people long before the Founding, long before the writing and ratifying of the Constitution. But don't tell the Decepticons, or New Jacobins as Claes Ryn calls them, because they will tell you that American Exceptionalism was born in 1776... but it's just not true. There was over a century of American tradition before 1776, and British tradition well before that. So why do the modern day Decepticons believe that American Tradition started in 1776? Because that's when the narrative started, it's a touchstone, and we somehow created a new way of thinking out of nowhere. But the events in North America of the previous 100 years have a huge influence on 1776. For more be sure and check out today's Founders TV and sign up for a Founders Pass if you haven't already.

The Good Vs. Evil Paradigm Is Shifting

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – Tom Woods and Kevin Gutzman are probably two of the smartest men that I have certainly ever met. Tom was a late bloomer. Tom started out as what he calls a neocon and what I call a decepticon. It’s not until you immerse yourself in the actual study of history -- I don’t just mean the epical history we love to romanticize about. I mean an actual viewing of the nitty gritty, the good, the bad, and the ugly part of history and the philosophical works. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Patrick Henry – Patriot, Pontificator And Bibliophile

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – Hayes actually went to Red Hill, which is where Henry lived and died, and asked permission of the family and the curator of the family estate and found Henry’s own diaries and the logs that Patrick Henry used to catalog his possessions. Back in those days, if you had books, books were like -- what would you compare a book to today? A book was a prized possession. They were very difficult to make. Usually what would happen is somebody would purchase a copy and they would read it and then they would send it to someone else. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

The Real Story Of Paul Revere’s Ride

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – How did and why did the British want Lexington and Concord? I can answer that. Now let’s go to Hackett Fischer’s book Paul Revere’s Ride, here on Paul Revere Day. It was 18 April 1775 when Revere made his famous ride. If we go to Hackett Fischer’s book, we can find out why Lexington and Concord were chosen. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Truth Is Treason In The Empire Of Lies…And It Doesn’t Pay Well Either

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – I was told by my financial advisor David Simpson: Okay, Mike, I want you to do half of what you do, your brilliant creativity, lying to the public and telling them what they want to hear -- like for Red State Gal and Blue State on Twitter yesterday -- and then the other half of the time you can pursue the truth. You have to lie half the time in order to make a living. That’s what we’ve come to here. I don’t want to do that. There’s just something wrong with that. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Germany Survived And America Will Survive Too

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – If the people of Germany could survive the Kaiser, World War I, Weimar Republic, unbelievable inflation, the rise of national socialism, the rise of Nazism, World War II, and then come out on the other side wealthier and better off than they were when they went in, I think we’re going to do okay as Americans. We’re resourceful. We have, as I said, an unbelievable amount of resources at our disposal. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Technology – Making Us Better…Slackers

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – In our enlightened age here, we seem to have convinced ourselves, or many people have tried to convince themselves, that technology is actually the work of the future and that’s all that is needed. No one will have to grow our food. No one will have to milk the cows. No one will have to figure out how to get the water from point A to point B. We won’t have to go through any of the things we go through today because technology will replace all those things. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

History Proves A War Hawk Foreign Policy Leads To Moral Devolution Of Society

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – I view the foreign policy debate not as an emotional thing and as a victory that I’d like to see a party carry. That’s an historical thing to me. It is informed by the history. The history says that these are horrifically dangerous precedents to set. Free people, if they really cherish their liberties, they don’t have and they don’t want a standing army. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Conservatives Need To Stop Fighting Over Details And Study History

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – This is why this schism is occurring inside conservative ranks. Number one, people don’t truly study conservative things. They don’t study the classics. They don’t study their actual history. They’re willing to take the mythological versions that modern-day charlatans publish, broadcast and what have you without doing their own due diligence. They haven’t considered the way the great traditions came about and why they are worthy of promoting and defending in their own lives. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Instead Of Learning From History, Today’s Youth Is Erasing It

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – The bad of it is that they’re rejecting all of recorded history. They’re saying the people that came before them were a bunch of racist, hick hayseeds that aren’t worth our consideration. We need to cleanse the history books of them and learn from them because they were wrong. In other words, our foreparents aren’t to be admired; they’re to be relegated to the ashbin of history. This is a point of view that is very dangerous. Check out today’s audio and transcript for the rest…

Tyranny And Despair Are As Old As Man

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Transcript - My point is, we’re not the first people to deal with this, so let’s just get over ourselves. Let’s just get over our own little hubris and arrogance. Go about living your life. Don’t worry about your friends that you can’t convince. There are always going to be idgets out there and there’s always going to be ignorant people. You cannot control them. You can influence them by your actions. Check out today's transcript for the rest...

The Writers of History Don’t Always Get It Right

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Video and Audio - Patrick Henry said it best when he said, "I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience." Well, that's true when you're reading and studying original source documents, not watching and listening to other peoples interpretations of history. As new evidence suggests, Shakespeare was basically slandering the good name of Richard III with what Henry VII told him to write. Similar things have happened before in American history... Immediately after the Constitution was written and ratified it was already being misinterpreted, Jefferson and others were thankfully still alive to defend it then. Well, we don't have the Founding Fathers now but maybe someone else will come along and resurrect the original intent of the Founders....

Progressive History For Progressive Kids!

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Video and Audio - The University of Texas and Texas A&M did a study on how history is being cataloged so that school age kids can access it. Well, of course this cataloging and digitizing requires human input, and who do you think they hired to do the inputting? If you said Libs or Progressives you would be correct. As a matter of fact if you were looking for Thomas Jefferson's "Notes on the State of Virginia" book where would you expect to find it? American History? No. Politics? No. Slavery? Yup. Because Jefferson was a slave-owner and that's how real American history has been twisted throughout the years. Can't make this stuff up folks. For more be sure and check out today's Founders TV video and audio...

Mike Preaches Non-Intervention To Those Addicted To US Military Action

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Transcript - Do not agree with me. You need to agree with the truth and with the correct historical record (and what it says about US military interventions). That’s what I try to stand for and live up to. That is my measure. You’re not agreeing with me, unless we’re talking about matters of God and transcendency and what we ought to do next. You’re agreeing with history.

If Letters Die, How Will the Future Know Our History?

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Transcript - Here’s another article that I found, stumbled across yesterday: “Preserve Digital Letters.” This is written by a cat named Fady Zaki at something attached
to Reason Magazine. This guy lives in New Zealand. This guy makes a very interesting observation. This goes out to all you 20-somethings and mid-30-somethings. When was the last time you picked up an ink pen, sat down with paper in front of you, and composed a formal letter to anyone, paper, pen, folded it up, put it in an envelope, self-addressed it and mailed it?
