Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – My understanding of the Tsarnaev brothers is that they came here with their father in 2003 and then asked for and were recognized as having sought political asylum. They did not want to be returned back to Chechnya or Dagestan, which is the country they were actually from. They asked us for asylum and were granted it. As the story showed, one applied for citizenship and it was granted, and the other was in the process of applying ….Continue

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – Any wage control damages a market because it has an effect on the price mechanism. Wage is part of the price mechanism, too. Your ability as a businessperson to set the wage, this is part of the price mechanism. This is how you arrive at how much to sell the donut for. The labor cost, that goes into the price mechanism. Anytime the government comes in and sets the price, it is altering forever the m….Continue

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – This brings up and shows just how out of kilter and out of whack the entire process is and how it is basically impossible to do what you just said you want to do. All we have to do is look at Arizona, Texas, and Alabama as recent examples. You can’t go after the employer because a federal court will interdict and say you’re violating their constitutional rights, whatever the hell that is, or that y….Continue

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Audio and Transcript - I have here in my hand a book called The Report of 1799 and 1800. The Alien and Sedition Acts are famous, world famous. Almost every American, people who listen to this show, have heard that. The argument was whether or not the Congress could suspend the First Amendment and then confer upon President Adams the power to say, “I don’t like that, Frenchy. I think he’s a threat and I’m going to have him arrested and….Continue

In today's Post Show Show free preview Mike discusses the Alien and Sedition act and the Virginia Report of 1799 (which is a response to the A&S act) as it relates to Ut….Continue

Was Secession A Constitutional Right? 1868 Book Concluded It Was. "It was in 1833, for the frst time in the history of the country, that it was solemnly asserted and argued, that the Constitution of the 'United States was not a compact between the States. This new doctrine simultaneously put forth, by Mr. Justice Story in his "Commentaries on the Constitution of the 'United States," and by Mr. Daniel Webster in "the greatest intellectual effort of his life," that is, in his great speech in the Senate of the I6th of February, 1833. In order to show that the Constitution is not a compact between the States, the position is assumed, that it is not a compact at all. If it be a compact, say they, then the States had a right to secede. But it is not a compact; and hence secession is treason and rebellion. The great fundamental questions, then, on which the whole controversy hinges are, first, Is the Constitution a compact? and, secondly, Is it a compact between the States?" - Albert Bledsoe, Was Secession A Constitutional Right (1868)
