Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Audio and Transcript - On today's show, Chuck Thompson, author of "Better Off Without 'em" joined Mike for a friendly discussion about secession. Chuck believes that the North and South have gone their separate ways for over 200 years not only in politics, but also in culture, so why not have an amicable split? There are, of course, a few details that Mike and Chuck disagree on (like Texas going to the North?) but the overall idea is basically the same, that the more local the government, the better for everyone involved. For more with Chuck, check out today's transcript and a clip from his interview...

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Transcript - Doesn’t the Obama administration, didn’t the Bush administration before it, didn’t the Clinton administration pose mortal threats to republicanism? Not only did they pose mortal threats to it, they have succeeded in almost snuffing it out. You are not free to debate many of the great issues of our time in your local town hall. You’re going to be told, “Well, Congress, has already settled that. The Supreme Court has already settled that. You don’t have any say so in that.” Republicanism is what was defeated. This began the process of finally defeating republicanism in 1865. It took another 70 years or so to completely snuff it out, but by the time of the Supreme Court revolution of the late 1950s, aided and abetted by the New Deal, republicanism lay dormant or near dormant. It was killed in the 1960s. This is what must be revived, republicanism. It doesn’t have anything to do with slavery, nothing, zero. It has everything to do with local rule, self-determination and republicanism. Check out today's transcript for the rest...

If the northern parishes wish to remain southern versions of Amish country, I have no problem with that but that coalition makes accomplishing many other things, statewide, an impossibility. Maybe it’s time for southeastern Louisiana to get reacquainted with original flag of the Florida Parishes, the Bonnie Blue, high time.

Mandeville, LA - Church Doctrine - “Happy Thanksgiving!” goes the oft cited phrase and indeed this year there will be plenty to give thanks for. Despite the stubborn rate of unemployment, the growing sea of red ink our government is swimming in and a corrupt culture from Baton Rouge to music award stages starring half naked hipsters simulating coitus, still we give thanks.

Mandeville, LA - Church Doctrine - Why is Rep. Steve Scalise spending an Israeli lobbyist’s money? Oh wait, he only accepted the “gift” as a way to spare taxpayers the expense of funding his seven day trip to Israel to meet with Israeli leaders. Gee I wonder why he’d want to do that? Well it may have something to do with his embrace of “our closest ally in the region” which thus necessitated his immediate rejection of the deal negotiated with the Iranians over their nuclear program.

Mandeville, LA - Church Doctrine Video - Back in August I commented on the ridiculous court case the Obama InJustice Department is pursuing against Louisiana’s school voucher system. Yesterday federal judge Ivan Lemelle confirmed that the state has to comply with Holder’s information requests before issuing vouchers. This is supposedly necessary because of the 1975 desegregation case Brumfeld v. Dodd but that is just a ruse. As I pointed out back in August and will point out again, Dodd was specifically aimed at insuring that there is equal spending in private schools without regard to race. The LA voucher program is color blind and if it did have a color preference it would be the black children in New Orleans who are its beneficiaries but don’t tell that to New Orleans’ liberals.

Mandeville, LA - Church Doctrine - Nancy Pelosi and Senator Mary Landrieu need to compare notes. Landrieu, quite possibly the most under-informed member of the United States Senate that is filled with intellectual wunderkinds like Senator Patty Murray. But Murray may be a Rhodes Scholar compared to Landrieu. When asked if ObamaCare was Constitutional, Landrieu told a reporter “[w]ell, we’re very lucky as members of the Senate to have constitutional lawyers on our staff, so I’ll let them answer that.” Gee, I thought the actual Senator took the oath to protect and defend the Constitution? The only oath the anonymous lawyer took was “ ‘til death do us Morris Bart.”

Mandeville, LA - Church Doctrine - So you went to healthcare.gov to buy a health insurance plan, wait scratch that, most folks went to healthcare.gov to get in line for their “fair share” of “health care” in the form of subsidies the Feds promise for anyone who cannot pay their own way. Note the use of the terms here “health insurance” vs “health care”.

Mandeville, LA - Church Doctrine - How’s this for the tag line of the next edition of TV’s latest “reality show”, “[t]hey sent me to prison for life but I came back with a good looking wife”? It is no joke that the sheer amount of infamous celebrities this country produces would make identifying this quote’s author nearly impossible so let me add “ex-governor” and “ex-con” to the mix. Well, that gets us closer but Rob Blagojevich fans will be disappointed to learn that Edwin Edwards landed the plum role with newest wife Trina.

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – What happened in that Wal-Mart in Louisiana on Saturday? This is being dubbed now as the “Louisiana heist” in the towns of Mansfield and Springhill. I don’t live near either one of the two. What happened? The EBT card system apparently, run by the Xerox Corporation, went caput for a little while while the servers were being updated or whatever it was that Xerox was doing on Saturday. Many people were being denied or their cards were not being honored because the system couldn’t be accessed. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Mandeville, LA - Church Doctrine Video - If I were conducting driver education classes and told you to be prepared to switch from safe driving techniques to the “Ricky Bobby” method you might get excited to meet Will Ferrell but as soon as that flight of fancy wore off you would wonder where the Ricky Bobby For Dummies manual was. You would thus find yourself in the same position most LA public school teachers are in today with the latest egomus de unum or we are of one mind mandate handed down from Mordor on the Potomac’s dys-education department: Common Core.

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – So Harry Reid, Barack Obama and all of those steely-eyed statesmen who are not going to give into this blackmail by this Republican Party that controls the House of Representin’ are now exacting financial and physical and mental harm on those that ordinarily would make their living selling and marketing services that have something to do with a national park. I got a question for those of you in Florida: When are you going to take back your seashore? Kick these tyrants out. Tell them to go home. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – Did white people choose to be white? So you’re going to carve out a special disfavor because you assert that there is this thing called an affirmative action program because you’re just born and destined and get admitted into any college that you want simply by virtue of the color of your skin? I must have missed out on that one, too. I was only invited, and I wasn’t even invited. I only applied to go to a junior college, and I only went for one semester. Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – All the episodes that I’ve seen of Duck Dynasty all include something the Robertson family is all doing together. I would say that these people are almost like we have unearthed some Cro-Magnon men, some Neanderthals that were froze in the bayou ice and then we turned them loose in northeast Louisiana. Someone forgot to tell the Robertsons you should be running around with iPhones stuck to your noses. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Mandeville, LA - Church Doctrine - When you give someone your consent you usually agree that they can harm you in some way. A good example is “I consent to the cavity search, officer.” It is in this spirit we should view the recently signed and much ballyhooed “Consent Decree” the City of New Orleans signed with the National Government. The mob bosses at the inJustice Department have informed Mayor Landrieu that the Police & Jail Decrees will cost $18 and $33.5 MILLION over 5 years. This is money the city does not have which makes you wonder why Landrieu begged to give his “consent” to start with? So where will the funding come from?

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – The story of the man who was shot in his driveway, Roy Middleton, 60, what is it with the cops out here these days? You can’t swing a dead cat without hitting a newspaper story of police officers in action with guns drawn, shooting people in their own homes or threatening to shoot people in their own homes. When most people think of the Dutch they conjure up images of young boys on paint cans with thumbs ready to plug a leaking levee. Yet it was a Dutchman, one Johan Cruyff who coined the phrase “Coincidence is logical”(1). Today I not the coincidence between news stories. The first is that McDermott International is mothballing its Morgan City manufacturing facility and heading for the green with profitable waters of Mexico. The second heralds the arrival of a new Panera Bread store in Baton Rouge(3). McDermott manufactured hardware for the oil & gas industry and employed 350 people. The latter will employ mostly part-time workers baking designer breads, enlarge the waistlines of Baton Rouge’s partially employed and return profits to a company based in another state.

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Transcript - My strongest ally, ladies and gentlemen, as a citizen of the State of Louisiana, is the State of Texas. That is my strongest ally. My strongest allies are my friends in the State of Mississippi. My strongest allies are my friends in the State of Arkansas and the State of Florida and the State of Georgia and the State of South Carolina. Those are my allies. I am bonded and wedded to them currently by this document called The Constitution. I am not bonded and wedded to any other foreign land on the face of this Earth. I’d like to introduce the audience to my friend Rob Maness. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – We do have laws around here. In emergencies, this is when you most want the protections of civil liberties and when you most want due process. We’re told we don’t want vigilantes running around seeking justice, right? Why should government be able to act like a vigilante? That was the only point that I was trying to make. I did not second guess Mayor Menino’s motives. I did not second guess Governor Patrick’s motives. I did nothing of the sort. I simply asked for a citation, which I still have yet to see or receive. Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – Because a court makes a decision that alters or purports to alter foundational law, which the Constitution is, does not make it right. What they’ve basically done is amend the First Amendment. In the McDonald case, they amended the Second Amendment. In other cases, they amended Amendments Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven and Eight as well. They don’t have the authority to do that. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Transcript - The problem today is, and why your plan will not work under current conditions, because your State of Pennsylvania is in on it. Your state, just like my state, cannot exist and cannot continue to pretend that it can afford all the vainglorious government services it provides without the general government borrowing $1 trillion plus every year and then sending it back to the states in the form of block grants. Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Audio and Transcript - There are people in Texas now that are talking about secession, talking about Texas the nation, that I believe are really serious about it. They’re serious about it not just because of the election or the results of the election. They’re serious about it because they believe that the way of life they have enjoyed and some of the traditions and customs that make them Texan is threatened by the menacing general government of the United States. I agree with you. You are threatened. We’re all threatened. This is a threat. It is a far more grave threat than the king of Great Britain ever dreamed of being. On 17 June 2011 at the Southern Republican Leadership Conference, Rep. Ron Paul sat down with Mike Church to answer some questions about the debt, the ongoing wars, and the Federal Reserve just to name a few. Remember folks, this is right when the GOP race was getting started and this is Mike interviewing Dr. Paul, so not every other question is about Romney or a social issue and there's not "gotcha" moments, just straight talk. Check out this great interview from almost a year ago...
