Mandeville LA - Only in 2014 America could a “religious restoration” act be pegged as “anti-gay”, to be used onlyby “bigots”. You see, a group of MS based chefs plan to take their condemnation of the law with them to New York City this July for a protest dinner. The “Big Gay Mississippi Welcome Table” as it is billed will feature “polite southern activism with food” according to organizer, chef John Currence. But what is polite about calling Christians who ….Continue

The Constitution Was Written By Fallible Men, Not Divined By God

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Transcript - You see and hear it every day on this show when people call me up and argue with me about incorporation and deny the history. It has to do with this idea that the United States Constitution was sent by God, that it was carried down from Mt. Sinai, which was Independence Hall, carved on stone tablets, and we’re all sworn a perpetual and never-ending oath to uphold and worship it. It was a document, ladies and gentlemen, written by mor….Continue

80% Of Something You Are Entitled To 100% Of Is Not A Bargain

©2012 Mike Church A few months back I threw out the idea that this fuddy duddy little document here, the U.S. Constitution, gave the State Courts near exclusive power over any cases concerning foreign countries and a state. I was told that the Constitution didn’t matter because the Editors of the Times Picayune and some publicly funded marine biologists had oil scarred dolphins and turtles to care for. Well the same dolphin wrap newspaper reports the joyous news today1 that….Continue

"It may seem to many readers that as I have elaborated my initial hypothesis I have step by step deprived myself of very nearly all possible argumentative allies. But is not just this required by the hypothesis itself? For if the hypothesis is true, it will necessarily appear implausible, since one way of stating part of the hypothesis is precisely to assert that we are in a condition which almost nobody recognizes and which perhaps nobody at all can recognize fully. If my hypothesis appeared initially plausible. it would certainly be false. And at least if even to entertain this hypothesis puts me into an antagonistic stance. it is a very different antagonistic stance from that of, for example, modern radicalism. For the modern radical is as confident in the moral expression of his stances and consequently in the assertive uses of the rhetoric of morality as any conservative has ever been. Whatever else he denounces in our culture he is certain that it still possesses the moral resources which he requires in order to denounce it. Everything else may be, in his eyes, in disorder; but the language of morality is in order. just as it is. That he too may be being betrayed by the very language he uses is not a thought available to him."  - Alastair MacIntyre
