Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Video and Audio - Gun purchases have more than doubled in the United States since 2009, people are literally buying guns and ammo like it's going out of style. So why are people doing this? Do you think that you're not going to be able to purchase some of these weapons in the near future? Or are you buying them to protect yourself and your family? If you're buying them for defense, well, that's a pretty valid reason. If you're buying them because you think the GOVERNMENT is going to come take away all your guns, well ask yourself, why would they? Why would they want to stop the gravy train? They are lining their pockets in D.C. with tax payers money, much of which comes from the people that stock up on Guns, ammo, gold, and silver. So really, why stop that? For more on this be sure and check out today's Founders TV and sign up for a Founder's Pass if you don't already have one!

Mandeville, LA - Church Doctrine - “Happy Thanksgiving!” goes the oft cited phrase and indeed this year there will be plenty to give thanks for. Despite the stubborn rate of unemployment, the growing sea of red ink our government is swimming in and a corrupt culture from Baton Rouge to music award stages starring half naked hipsters simulating coitus, still we give thanks.

Mandeville, LA - Church Doctrine - Why is Rep. Steve Scalise spending an Israeli lobbyist’s money? Oh wait, he only accepted the “gift” as a way to spare taxpayers the expense of funding his seven day trip to Israel to meet with Israeli leaders. Gee I wonder why he’d want to do that? Well it may have something to do with his embrace of “our closest ally in the region” which thus necessitated his immediate rejection of the deal negotiated with the Iranians over their nuclear program.

Mandeville, LA - Church Doctrine Video - Back in August I commented on the ridiculous court case the Obama InJustice Department is pursuing against Louisiana’s school voucher system. Yesterday federal judge Ivan Lemelle confirmed that the state has to comply with Holder’s information requests before issuing vouchers. This is supposedly necessary because of the 1975 desegregation case Brumfeld v. Dodd but that is just a ruse. As I pointed out back in August and will point out again, Dodd was specifically aimed at insuring that there is equal spending in private schools without regard to race. The LA voucher program is color blind and if it did have a color preference it would be the black children in New Orleans who are its beneficiaries but don’t tell that to New Orleans’ liberals.

Mandeville, LA - Church Doctrine - Nancy Pelosi and Senator Mary Landrieu need to compare notes. Landrieu, quite possibly the most under-informed member of the United States Senate that is filled with intellectual wunderkinds like Senator Patty Murray. But Murray may be a Rhodes Scholar compared to Landrieu. When asked if ObamaCare was Constitutional, Landrieu told a reporter “[w]ell, we’re very lucky as members of the Senate to have constitutional lawyers on our staff, so I’ll let them answer that.” Gee, I thought the actual Senator took the oath to protect and defend the Constitution? The only oath the anonymous lawyer took was “ ‘til death do us Morris Bart.”

Mandeville, LA - Church Doctrine - When Andrew Jackson showed up to meet the invading British in New Orleans, he stopped at the Ursuline Convent to visit and then pray to Our Lady of Prompt Succor1 with Sister St. Michel and the Ursuline sisters. We know how this story ends but many don’t know that Jackson made regular stops at Ursuline Convent whenever he was in New Orleans.2 The power of prayer has thus been sought and revered in New Orleans for centuries. Inside the Superdome Sunday night, the power of prayer was invoked on the sidelines as Times Picayune photographer David Grunfeld discovered.

Mike Church participated in the annual Free Enterprise Institute's "Founders Day Breakfast" at the River Oaks Country Club in Houston TX. Joining a list of luminary speakers including Annette Kirk, widow of the late Dr Russell Kirk, Stephen Klugewicz, Houston Texans owner Bob McNair and Gleaves Whitney, Mike delivered a spirited 8 minute presentation of some little known facts on the life of Patrick Henry. Included is the story of one of the Alamo's defenders, one Patrick Henry Herndon.

Mandeville, LA - Church Doctrine - So you went to healthcare.gov to buy a health insurance plan, wait scratch that, most folks went to healthcare.gov to get in line for their “fair share” of “health care” in the form of subsidies the Feds promise for anyone who cannot pay their own way. Note the use of the terms here “health insurance” vs “health care”.

Mandeville, LA - Church Doctrine - If Secretary of State John Kerry were to critique the violence that rips through the streets of New Orleans and compare it to the alleged chemical violence of the mean streets of Damascus, Syria he would no doubt thunder that “children dying of asphyxiation by chemical weapons must not be allowed to go unanswered!” Really!? Would you like to tell that to the mother of 1 year old Londyn Samuels who was killed with her 18 year old babysitter on August 31? How about the parents of the other 3 children killed in “Central City” since September, 2010?

Mandeville, LA - Church Doctrine - When Styx’s Tommy Shaw sang “too much time on my hands” he claimed to be a “jet fuel genius who can solve the world’s problems without even trying”. This must be what drives Attorney General Eric Holder to continue the unconstitutional federal intrusion into that most local of all issues: education.

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – The big story here in New Orleans is how FEMA has come in here and is altering the flood zone maps. This is FEMA, the organization that you love to hate if you live anywhere where there’s ever been a natural disaster. I shouldn’t say ever, where there has been a natural disaster in the past 20 years. The federal government has charged FEMA with bailing out the NFIP program. Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – This is key, I think, a universal respect for life. If there is no universal respect for life, then you have at least part of what is necessary for this awful “culture of violence” to rear its ugly head. When I say universal respect for life, your universal respect for life covers the born, the unborn, the living, Americans and Mexicans alike or Yugoslavians or whatever. It is either universal or it is not. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Audio - Shadeed from New Orleans may end up getting his own segment on the Mike Church Show because he knows what's wrong with the Department of Defense and he will tell you about it. And he knows what's going on with local Louisiana and New Orleans schools and politics, so maybe he'd be better off running against Mary Landrieu for Senate...

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Transcript - I’m sitting there and I’m in a very not-wealthy section of the City of New Orleans, similar to ones I’m sure you can find around where you live. I’m moved by the fact that there are these beautiful children here who someone along the way decided not to abort. I guarantee you there were economic circumstances that many of those children were born under that would suggest, especially if you’re listening to East Coast libs, that they should have been aborted, yet there they were. Check out today's transcript for the rest...

On 17 June 2011 at the Southern Republican Leadership Conference, Rep. Ron Paul sat down with Mike Church to answer some questions about the debt, the ongoing wars, and the Federal Reserve just to name a few. Remember folks, this is right when the GOP race was getting started and this is Mike interviewing Dr. Paul, so not every other question is about Romney or a social issue and there's not "gotcha" moments, just straight talk. Check out this great interview from almost a year ago...

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Transcript - Here’s another article that I found, stumbled across yesterday: “Preserve Digital Letters.” This is written by a cat named Fady Zaki at something attached to Reason Magazine. This guy lives in New Zealand. This guy makes a very interesting observation. This goes out to all you 20-somethings and mid-30-somethings. When was the last time you picked up an ink pen, sat down with paper in front of you, and composed a formal letter to anyone, paper, pen, folded it up, put it in an envelope, self-addressed it and mailed it? Check out today's transcript for more...

When in Rome do as the Roman’s do or as we might say in 2012 Louisiana do as the Madoffs do. Last week I reported that Governor Bobby Jindal has boasted of conning the all too willing Federal Leviathan into “covering” 85% of the State’s Hurricane Isaac costs. Well not to be outdone in the mad rush for Pyhrric money, now I can wonder how the citizens of dry as a bone Tulsa OK feel about the Federal lottery Mayor Landrieu just hit1 for $27.3 million in “Isaac reimburse[ments]”? For the rest watch the Church Doctrine video...

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Transcript - The way to save the City of New Orleans, number one, is to blow a hole in that levee and let that water come through. It’s going to have to happen anyway. Let the silt begin to refortify the delta. If you don’t, what you have is a bowl. The next time one of those levees cracks as a result of a hurricane may be the end of the Crescent City. You notice that when the great flood of 2005 after Hurricane Katrina happened, where were Shepard Smith and company holed up at so that they weren’t in flood waters? They were on that original ridge that runs through the French Quarter, which is still high enough ground to withstand the flood. It’s not below sea level, it isn’t. I get a little tired of this mythology about all of us loving to live below sea level. We don’t. It’s the damn government messing with the freaking rivers that makes us live below sea level. Check out today's transcript for the rest...

Don’t Use Public Money To Buy Right Or Left Wing Fried Chicken Dinners - Louisiana’s one of a kind school voucher program is now in effect and judging by the howls of righteous indignation coming from the usual suspects on the left it must be working. Times Picayune columnist Jarvis deBerry informs us that “Public money is now being used to send children to private schools … and taxpayers deserve to know … that it isn't merely funding a right-wing belief that the government can't do anything better than the private sector.”
