This Day in Founding Fathers History - Where we bring you important dates in the lives and history of the Founding Generation. Another birthday on this day in 1744, that of Elbridge Gerry. Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – Remember, this is happening in New York City. This is being administered by New York City’s police department. It is not being administered by the FBI, the DEA, the ATF, the IRS, the Department of Education, Department of Energy, or any of the other armed goons that work for the federal government that are armed, locked, and loaded against the citizenry because they’re told they have to protect themselves from me and you. After all, are fleets and armies of NSA and CIA agents necessary for a work of love and reconciliation? I have news for you, listeners. We are that enemy. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – The only line that concerns me right now is occupied by the one and only Bill Kauffman, who is the screenwriter for the great new film Copperhead playing in theaters right now in limited release. I’m sure it will make it to a theater near you and certainly to a DVD Player near you. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – My proposition is very simple. I don’t have an issue or a problem with an incorporated city managing any property that they own and selling parking services. What I have a problem with and what I have suggested is what the city ought to do is get out of the business, totally out of the business of parking. Just get out of it. Fire the meter maids, get them off the damn payrolls, and pull all the meters up, or sell the meters to another city or town or vendor that wants to use them. Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Transcript - I would imagine you could easily carve five or six states out of California, piece of cake. Well, if you’re going to remain in the United States, then each one of those states gets its own two United States senators. You’re diluting the power. You don’t have to have just Dianne Feinstein and Babs Boxer. You get to elect your two members of the United States Senate. Check out today's transcript for the rest...

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – All authority is derived from the people. The only way Nanny Bloomberg can do the things he’s doing is if the people have entrusted him with a measure of their own sovereignty. This is a very good chance to teach the children out there a thing or two about republicanism and how things are supposed to work. Check out today’s audio and transcript for the rest…

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – There’s something to be said about parenting, believe it or not. James Madison was a child prodigy, that may be true, but in his formative years he was homeschooled. He was taught at home. Thomas Jefferson was a childhood prodigy, I would wager, and in his formative years he was homeschooled. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – Are they going to have soda police in New York? What is the penalty for violating this act of soda tyranny? They ought to have the New York Soda Party. They ought to find out where Bloomberg is going to be sailing his Bloomberg yacht out on the Hudson and dump 10,000 gallons of soda into the harbor, call it the New York Soda Party. Check out today’s audio and transcript for the rest…

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Video and Audio - Approximately 240 years ago the Congress and Senate were supposed to have their first meeting to elect the first President of the United States of America... but not enough Senators showed up to form a quorum. There were enough Congressmen there, but it took them several weeks and numerous letters to get some of the Senators (ahem,Virginia, ahem) there. And of course, when enough finally got to Federal Hall in New York, they elected George Washington first President of the United States of America... but still not everyone was there and some of the states still had not ratified the Constitution. Can you imagine something like that happening today? Senators and congressmen not attending the Inauguration or the first day of a new session? They would be absolutely scorned in public. But many members of the first Congress were apathetic and ambivalent to their office, since it didn't have much authority anyways... Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Transcript - The State of Florida is thinking the same thing, because everyone in Florida cares about tourism. If the oceans rise four feet, they’re going to flood the inland and we won’t have beaches anymore and nobody is going to come to our state. It’s always amazing to me, this is not really a concern to care for the Earth that God, that Jesus Christ has blessed us all with to enjoy. That’s not why you want to do any of these things. You want to do these things so un-tanned, lily white Yankees will still visit your state and give you some of their money. Check out today's transcript for the rest..

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Transcript - What you’re basically describing to me is that you desire a return to a very healthy and energetic form of federalism, which is what you could have under a federal system as envisioned and ordered by the U.S. Constitution. Unfortunately, that is not what we currently have. There is an attempt at federalism but it’s abandoned all too easily. There are a few people that are actually dedicated and devoted to it. I’d say that in the national legislature, there are probably less than ten percent of the people that are dedicated to the proposition that the Constitution lays out for a federal system of government. Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Audio and Transcript - There are people in Texas now that are talking about secession, talking about Texas the nation, that I believe are really serious about it. They’re serious about it not just because of the election or the results of the election. They’re serious about it because they believe that the way of life they have enjoyed and some of the traditions and customs that make them Texan is threatened by the menacing general government of the United States. I agree with you. You are threatened. We’re all threatened. This is a threat. It is a far more grave threat than the king of Great Britain ever dreamed of being. Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Audio - "One single term", one of the most clichéd "solutions" to our problems in Government. Well it's not really a solution because who's going out and voting for the corruptocrats every 2 or 4 years? You are. We are. Term limits don't matter because the people spending the money, the lobbyists, the assistants, the corporations, are still there and still corrupt. But Lucas seems to think this is the ultimate solution to all of our problems and everything will simply fix itself if everyone is just elected for one term. Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Audio and Transcript - Your country Tennessee is part of a union of countries. This is another one of the thinking processes that has gotten totally out of whack and totally out of kilter. It is a great story to be re-lived that while the great General Robert E. Lee did not believe that the act of secession was legal, he was wrong about that. When he was asked by Mr. Seward to lead President Lincoln’s army to invade and put down the rebel insurrection in the State of Virginia, Lee said: I cannot and I must side with my country. Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Video and Audio - On the American Conservative website, Gary L. Gregg wrote an article entitle "Unpopular Vote" which details how the Electoral College is the last hope of the Founders Vision... and he's right. You can't have a simple, popular vote, because the candidates would just be campaigning in the 10 largest cities in the country... New York, Los Angeles, Houston, Atlanta, etc... Would they even bother visiting states like Montana, Wyoming, or Ohio (maybe Cleveland but that's it). Each state must get it's vote in the election and the Electoral College ensures that. For more on the Electoral College, the upcoming Election Day, how becoming President in the good ole US of A is a one way trip to wealth and power, be sure and check out today's Founders TV. Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Audio and Transcript - If you don’t want to be a citizen of the world, if you’re tired of being told you have to subscribe to the UN’s Agenda 21 and this, that and the other from the United Nations and the European Union and all that stuff, then get out of it. Lead the way. Of course, the Constitution, that glorious document, provides us all the methodology needed to accomplish this. This is within your power, my friends. You’re told that it’s not because to break up the party is to take the money and the power back from those that continue to, in a corrupt fashion, steal it from you and steal it from our children on a daily basis. So I say to those that are bitching about how Chicago is rotten and how Chicago screws up Illinois politics: secede from them. Check out the rest in today's audio and transcript...

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Audio and Transcript - The people that lived in the State of Maine were tired of having all of their political fortunes tied and connected at the hip to the left wing, lunatic, big legislating nut jobs in Boston. Maine basically seceded from Massachusetts and became its own state. True story, look it up. What you’re telling me is the same thing that I hear from listeners in states like Illinois. They say: Mike, you keep bashing Illinois. Please stop. We here in the western and southern part of Illinois do not live in Chicago. We do not like Mayor Godfather. We do not spend money like they do in Springfield from the legislators that are sent from Chicago. Check out the rest in today's audio and transcript...

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Transcript - Well, I don’t think it took 200 years to get this far screwed. There is something to be said for someone (hint, hint) writing and producing a movie that has as its feature that Patrick Henry and George Mason were successful in defeating the ratification of the Constitution in Virginia, which would have defeated ratification in New York, and probably would have defeated ratification in toto. What would have happened? Then the three-fifths compromise on slaves never would have been met. You don’t know then what would have happened in the 1810’s, ‘20s and ‘30s with the Missouri Compromise. You don’t know what would have come after that. You don’t know that Southerners would have made it their -- the life of their men and young men basically was to defend their system of economics, which had slavery at its center. They were compelled to do so. They had no choice in the matter, save for all becoming impoverished themselves. Of course, the industrial revolution was right around the corner and they could not have known that. Check out the rest in today's transcript...

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Audio and Transcript - This is Mike's response to Andrew from New York, which you can listen to in today's audio. "The New York, Yankee elite cannot see the attraction or the worthiness of the Southern gentleman. No wonder you bombed us back into the stone ages, Andrew. You’re a perfect example. This is exactly the attitude that your forefathers had. They can’t understand the usefulness of these guys hanging out at their plantations. Let me give you an example of some of these guys that you just described were useless. Jefferson was one, Washington, Madison, Taylor of Caroline, Mason, Richard Henry Lee. I can go on for about another three and a half hours if you like. They all fit that character that I described, that Weaver was describing there. You don’t see the usefulness of those guys. That’s interesting, isn’t it, folks? I appreciate the window into the fact that not much has changed since 1861, Andrew. Thank you very much."

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Transcript - Nobody called the first ten amendments the Bill of Rights until incorporation was invented in the early part of the 20th century. Amendment One is part of a suite of twelve amendments that were proposed in the first congress and sent to the states for ratification. The sole and explicit purpose of those amendments were that the states that ratified begrudgingly -- like New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia especially, North Carolina, which would not ratify until amendments had been proposed and adopted -- the sole, explicit purpose of those first ten amendments that were ratified were to ensure that the new general government would not abuse its powers. They were not directed at the states. If they were directed at the states, then the states already had the political power to do everything in those amendments.
