Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – This is a complicated political question. Congress and the Lincoln administration did not reach a legal determination; they reached a political determination. There is a difference between the two. As a matter of fact, one of the subjects on tonight’s video presentation at MikeChurch.com will be Professor Brion McClanahan on this subject of the Constitution and secession. Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – Who is this God that you speak of and what is this reason? Reason is a creation of philosophical men. One of the early instances or early attempts to remove the spiritual from the daily affairs and decision-making process of men was to assign this thing called reason. MANDEVILLE, LOUISIANA - Exclusive Transcript - One-day after establishment Republicans unveiled their new Pledge to America, ergo Contract with America2.0, it is obvious, the loyal opposition no longer cares to aspire to the brand of smaller government rhetoric promised during the 1990s and most certainly no longer resembles in any fashion, the ideals espoused by former President Ronald Reagan during the Goldwater era.

I will concede, and I will hope that the U.S.’s involvement in the Middle East come to a grinding halt as it applies to our financing of this regime or that regime, and our funding of keeping the Straits of Hormuz open, and the use of our Navy to ensure that the Saudi sheikhs continue to be able to purchase tin-plated or nickel-plated Audi A6s and new palaces to build around. But I think it’s wrong. I think it’s long overdue that we turn ourselves inward and that we explore for and find our own energy, and we stop playing world super ocean policemen. Do we need a Navy? Absolutely. We need to make sure that our stuff can arrive safely. That’s the purpose of the Navy. And that we can defend our shores against a foreign invasion. Sure, we need a Navy. So I’ll concede that. But he’s not talking about that. That’s not what he’s talking about. He’s talking about, well, no, that we’ve got to give them a chance.

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – If Congress wants to deal with this in a constitutionally consistent manner, what I think they ought to do is they ought to have the testicles to declare those that are here illegally as alien enemies. That might require then a declaration of war against Central American countries, but then the designation of alien enemies would apply and you could then deal with the problem. Short of that, all this is going to do is produce more tears. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – Christie flies to Utah this Thursday. He and Rand Paul and Paul Ryan are all going to Romney Palooza, a big hoop-de-doo gathering out in Utah that is hosted by the former candidate. “Romney retreat to draw three GOP presidential hopefuls.” The retreat is called the Experts and Enthusiasts event set for Thursday and Friday in Park City. Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – I would like to draw the distinction between what basically today is entertainment that is labeled and branded as intellectual thought. It’s not intellectual thought. It is entertainment that may be amenable and may appeal to people who believe themselves to be conservative, but it is not an intellectual and well thought out and principled conservatism, not of the order of the Russell Kirks and this gentleman I was reading, of the great Mel Bradford, guys how just put enormous amounts of thought and research and reflection into it. Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Video and Audio - In 1986 the Reagan administration worked out immigration reform for the current times… and future generations. So why would the current congress want to try and fix something that isn't broken? And even if it was an issue they needed to address, good luck trying to get them to propose a solution that lasts for more than four years, much less "future generations". All they're concerned about are quick fixes that will look good when they're running for office again. Check out more in today's Founders TV and be sure to sign up for a Founders Pass!

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – Today’s conservatism requires you to do very un-conservative things. It requires you to hold very un-conservative thought. It requires you to promote things that Christian conservatives should never be promoting, and that is a nonstop engagement in war. Making war and believing that the strength of your republic, as many of you conservatives like to call it, is to be found in your military is not a conservative endeavor. Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Transcript - Do not agree with me. You need to agree with the truth and with the correct historical record (and what it says about US military interventions). That’s what I try to stand for and live up to. That is my measure. You’re not agreeing with me, unless we’re talking about matters of God and transcendency and what we ought to do next. You’re agreeing with history.

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Transcript - In the 32 years that intervened, has anything that Reagan was warning about back in 1981, has any of it been mitigated? Has it been solved? Has it been healed? Has it been fixed? Has it been repaired? Do we spend less than we take in? Have we gotten our house in order? As individuals, do we have our houses in order? The answer is no. Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Audio and Transcript - If the Subaru driving hippy is voting Romney, it’s over. We've had 16 bumper sticker polls today, and they've all gone Mitt's way. I don’t even know why we’re bothering to vote on election day. It seems like the Romney campaign has won, in a convincing fashion, the yard sign and bumper sticker poll. Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Transcript - Barry Goldwater lost in 1964 by 22 points. He was blown out by Lyndon Baines Johnson. The only thing positive that came out of Goldwater’s movement was Ronald Wilson Reagan, who was a chief spokesman for Barry Goldwater. At the time of his candidacy, though, Goldwater, a member the United States Senate, had written a book called The Conscience of a Conservative, or had written a series of essays or floor speeches that had been assembled into a book called The Conscience of a Conservative. Here is part of that book. It’s probably one of the most famous passages. It doesn’t get read often enough. Check out today's transcript for an excerpt from the book and a link to purchase it...

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Audio and Transcript - In the 30 years that have elapsed since the Reagan administration, every two and every four years, people have said exactly what Dianne just said: we’re not going to undo this overnight, so we’re just going to take a little baby step. The little baby step has led to $16 trillion in debt. It has led to wars that are unfunded and spread throughout the world to the point that the American people don’t even know where their servicemen and women are deployed. It has led to $220 trillion in unfunded liabilities that cannot be paid back. I’d say the baby steps back to the path we want to get off is an unmitigated disaster, a provable unmitigated disaster, a cataclysm, an apocalypse, a political apocalypse unequaled in the history of these United States.
