Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Video and Audio - Today is the birthday of one Timothy Pickering. Now, not too many people are familiar with Pickering but more people should be. Why? Because he was one of the first people to be in favor of states seceding from the Union. Oh, but not just ANY states... the NORTHERN STATES! One of the main reasons that people like Pickering (and other Northerners) wanted the North to secede was because the South was in complete control of the Federal Government up until about 1860... just imagine how American History would have turned out if the North would have been successful in seceding! So enjoy today's history lesson about Timothy Pickering and secession in today's Founders TV! And be sure and sign up for a Founders Pass to listen to the entire show!

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Video and Audio - Three weeks after Obama's election and the talk of Secession is still going strong... especially in Texas. In fact, Larry Kilgore is running for Governor of Texas and will even change his name to Larry SECEDE Kilgore. But what about Ron Paul? In an interview with Mike earlier in the year he said the he didn't really think Secession was a very good idea... but lately he's changed his mind about it, which he doesn't do very often, so what's cause him to change his mind. Well, Ron is from Texas and if they seceded, they would probably have to re-write the Constitution to have a President, and he could certainly run for that office... Of course, the story goes that Lincoln refused to see the commissioners because he knew that his force had been sent down to Charleston Harbor. It is believed by many that he was hoping that there would be a confrontation and he could use that as an excuse to threaten the South Carolinians with a full invasion and force them to undo their recent secession and rejoin the Union. That was the plan.

"Folks, this is why secession must be pooh-poohed, tabooed, the word to dare not speak its name. It must be made all of those horrific things because it is the ultimate threat to them. Leaving their jurisdiction is the ultimate threat to them. That’s what they fear. They don’t fear Vlad the Impaler Putin. They don’t fear the Iranians. They fear you and me seceding. That’s what they fear. Why? Because they’re milking us like the parasites they are. If you secede, they can’t milk you anymore."

"This is another interesting point of discussion when we talk about this. Exactly what is a State? Is a State a geographical entity? Well, you could say that you call the State of Georgia, for example, Georgia because of the border it has with Tennessee and South Carolina and Alabama and Florida, which are very well-defined and well-known, but does that make it a State or is that just a boundary where that State ends and the next State begins?"

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Transcript - Doesn’t the Obama administration, didn’t the Bush administration before it, didn’t the Clinton administration pose mortal threats to republicanism? Not only did they pose mortal threats to it, they have succeeded in almost snuffing it out. You are not free to debate many of the great issues of our time in your local town hall. You’re going to be told, “Well, Congress, has already settled that. The Supreme Court has already settled that. You don’t have any say so in that.” Republicanism is what was defeated. This began the process of finally defeating republicanism in 1865. It took another 70 years or so to completely snuff it out, but by the time of the Supreme Court revolution of the late 1950s, aided and abetted by the New Deal, republicanism lay dormant or near dormant. It was killed in the 1960s. This is what must be revived, republicanism. It doesn’t have anything to do with slavery, nothing, zero. It has everything to do with local rule, self-determination and republicanism. Check out today's transcript for the rest...

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – Here’s another great little historical inconvenience, Frank. Pennsylvania was also part of a perpetual union according to the Articles of Confederation. You have been living in this union in violation of your own theory, according to the act ratified in November of 1781 called the Articles of Confederation. How does that taste in your pipe? Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – If there’s one thing I think we’re going to be very excited about the prospects of in the very near future for ourselves, for the rest of our lives, and hopefully for our children, it is that decentralization, republicanism, and civic spirit is returning. It wasn’t on the backburner. I think it was pretty much on life support. It has been revived. It has not been revived in the persona of a political party. It has been revived in the persona of citizens and the citizenry and in civic activity and in civic mindedness. This is important because republicanism requires your participation. Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – What I think I figured out is that the Obamacare act has so many of you so frustrated, politically frustrated, and since it has become nearly the singular cause célèbra of the “conservative movement,” and that there doesn’t seem to be a constitutional remedy to escape it. We’re not going to take it, but there are probably three constitutional remedies. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – Folks, it is slim pickings out there for this. I searched for this and was just blown away by the dearth of returns. Not only is no one else or few people in media or broadcast media or internet media talking about this; you can’t even find people in the five counties that actually voted to secede that are talking about it. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – Getting a sampling of what you people are thinking and talking about today, many of you are pointing out that you’ve tried to Google search to get some news, view some news from the secession initiatives in Colorado yesterday and you can’t find it. I had the same problem. I had to change and alter my search a couple of times this morning before I was able to get anything. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – Just looking at the electoral map of Virginia, you have an entire state, I’d say about 90 percent of the geographical area, is entirely red. These aren’t even close reds. Click on any one of the counties and not one of them is a horse race. Then you have a couple pockets of the virus. The virus is those teat-sucklers that work for Mordor. If you look close on that map, if you blow it up, you can even see the perpendicular lines where those three counties have been carved out of the ten-mile square. Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – So I have this story about how northern, rural Colorado is overrun and is going to get steamrolled by progressives that have invaded parts of northern, rural Colorado and the rest of Colorado and it’s over. If you go out there and say you don’t like killing babies, those progressives are going to run against you and Terry McAuliffe you. They’re going to Ken Cuccinelli you and you’re going to lose. That’s the upshot of this story here. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – There will be other legislators from Colorado that will say: It’s not really our choice now. If they want to leave, who are we to tell them they have to stay? This is what progressives and libs do all the time. They tell you you have to do things you don’t want to do. Why would then the progressive legislature of the State of Colorado do something that’s not progressive? In other words, for what reason would they let the revenue source that is northern Colorado go? Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Video and Audio - Ten counties in Colorado are voting on whether or not they want to SECEDE from the state of Colorado. And if it does happen and they are admitted into the Union (or they could stay out there on their own and start a trend) they'll have their own Governor, own Congressman, and won't have to answer to Gov Hickenlooper or the people of Denver. This is little r [r]epublicanism at work folks. Now a lot of people will see this Secession as a return to another S word... Slavery. But are there any people in Colorado talking about restarting plantation life? No. So wait, does this mean that Secession is actually about something OTHER than Slavery? Prepare for some minds to be blown folks. For more on this be sure and check out today's Founders TV and sign up for a Founders Pass if you haven't already!

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – Your bloodlust for your fellow citizens’ blood is sick, it really is. It is sick. You are morally bankrupt in your sickness. The act of secession comes from the Latin word secedere, look it up. What does secedere mean? It means to withdraw. I am going to secedere to the bathroom. I’m going to withdraw to the bathroom. It has nothing to do with a war. It’s not a part of war. It is a simple act of withdrawing from an agreement. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Video and Audio - One of the rights of being sovereign is determining your own form of government. If the people of North Colorado want to secede, then they have every right to, unless there is a law EXPRESSLY forbidding it in their Constitution (which is very doubtful). If a law doesn't exist forbidding secession, then that right is left to the people, since there is no "King of Colorado" to stop them. And if the people of North Colorado have the sovereign right to leave Colorado what does that mean for the rest of the state (and for the rest of us)? That they also have the right to leave the Federal Union as well. For more on this be sure and check out today's Founders TV and sign up for a Founders Pass if you haven't already!

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – Pickering sees as a solution that the Northern way of life, in order to be preserved, must separate from the Southern. How inconvenient is that statement!? The Northern way of life is in jeopardy by the Democrats of the aristocratic South, as he called them. This, of course, after what should be celebrated and enjoyed by every American as the greatest revolution in the history of revolutions, the American Revolution. Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – With the revelation of Franklin Pierce’s veto of the indigent insane bill, my perspective on fighting the federal leviathan has taken on an entirely new tint now. I always knew there was no general welfare power granted to the Congress. I wasn’t aware that a first generation descendent of the founder had actually had to deal with it and so forcefully and so mightily and so irrevocably demolished that idea that it wouldn’t gain a majority in the Congress for another 80 years. That’s how powerful Pierce’s smackdown of Congress was. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – This is a complicated political question. Congress and the Lincoln administration did not reach a legal determination; they reached a political determination. There is a difference between the two. As a matter of fact, one of the subjects on tonight’s video presentation at MikeChurch.com will be Professor Brion McClanahan on this subject of the Constitution and secession.
