Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Video and Audio - Are you a Neo-Confederate? Does anyone really know exactly what that means? Usually it is used in a defamatory manner, it implies that you or your ancestors are sympathetic towards slavery... but does ANYONE in their right mind want to bring slavery back? Most "neo-confederates" are people proud of their southern culture. Yes, their were some bad parts of it, but there are bad parts of every culture. But the way the word is used in such a deragotary manner, means that "they" are trying to eradicate the culture of the south. Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Video and Audio - There are those in the North who want to continue fighting Lincoln's War of Aggression until every Southern, Confederate is obliterated from history. From re-naming Military installations that were named after Confederate Generals because they were part of the "slaveocracy". Well, Jefferson, Washington, and many others were also members of the so-called "slaveocracy". And let's not forget the outrage that Yankees have over Robert E Lee! Many people in the North seem to think that the Confederacy was completely comprised of evil, racist, war-mongering, genocidal maniacs and that it had to be "put down" like it was some sort of rabid dog. These people that think like this are just despicable. For more on this be sure and check out today's Founders TV and sign up for a Founders Pass if you haven't already!

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Video and Audio - After the "stuff" hit the fan over Rand Paul's hiring and retention of Jack Hunter, there were very few that came to his defense. Most in the "mainstream media" (and talk radio mafia) were basically calling for Jack's head for things that they didn't even know if he wrote or not, and even if he did write these things about being proud of his Southern Heritage... what's wrong with that? Should everyone who had a grand-pappy or great-grand-pappy in the War of Northern Aggression just conveniently forget about them? Write them out of their family tree? And of course Jack isn't a fan of Lincoln (neither are we), he declared war on the Southern States! Does that mean he should excuse himself from polite society? No, in fact, it means that more people need to stand up for Jack. For more on this be sure and check out today's Founders TV and sign up for a Founders Pass if you don't already have one!

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Audio and Transcript - On today's show, Chuck Thompson, author of "Better Off Without 'em" joined Mike for a friendly discussion about secession. Chuck believes that the North and South have gone their separate ways for over 200 years not only in politics, but also in culture, so why not have an amicable split? There are, of course, a few details that Mike and Chuck disagree on (like Texas going to the North?) but the overall idea is basically the same, that the more local the government, the better for everyone involved. For more with Chuck, check out today's transcript and a clip from his interview...

Of course, the story goes that Lincoln refused to see the commissioners because he knew that his force had been sent down to Charleston Harbor. It is believed by many that he was hoping that there would be a confrontation and he could use that as an excuse to threaten the South Carolinians with a full invasion and force them to undo their recent secession and rejoin the Union. That was the plan.

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Transcript - Doesn’t the Obama administration, didn’t the Bush administration before it, didn’t the Clinton administration pose mortal threats to republicanism? Not only did they pose mortal threats to it, they have succeeded in almost snuffing it out. You are not free to debate many of the great issues of our time in your local town hall. You’re going to be told, “Well, Congress, has already settled that. The Supreme Court has already settled that. You don’t have any say so in that.” Republicanism is what was defeated. This began the process of finally defeating republicanism in 1865. It took another 70 years or so to completely snuff it out, but by the time of the Supreme Court revolution of the late 1950s, aided and abetted by the New Deal, republicanism lay dormant or near dormant. It was killed in the 1960s. This is what must be revived, republicanism. It doesn’t have anything to do with slavery, nothing, zero. It has everything to do with local rule, self-determination and republicanism. Check out today's transcript for the rest...

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – There is something to be said in terms of your mannerisms, attitude, charisma. It’s something that I think Senator Paul does an amazing job with. I wish Cruz would take some cues from that. Just being so ardently supported by the 15, 20 percent of the people that like you doesn’t win you a presidential election in 2016. Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – Pickering sees as a solution that the Northern way of life, in order to be preserved, must separate from the Southern. How inconvenient is that statement!? The Northern way of life is in jeopardy by the Democrats of the aristocratic South, as he called them. This, of course, after what should be celebrated and enjoyed by every American as the greatest revolution in the history of revolutions, the American Revolution. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – I’m well aware of what that pocket constitution says. I’m well aware of the ahistorical argument and the ahistorical facts, meaning they’re not historical, that says it was ratified. How can an entity that is said to not be a part of the federal union and must ratify said document you have in your hand, how can it ratify and be counted as a ratifying state when the Congress and president say it’s not a state. Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – All the episodes that I’ve seen of Duck Dynasty all include something the Robertson family is all doing together. I would say that these people are almost like we have unearthed some Cro-Magnon men, some Neanderthals that were froze in the bayou ice and then we turned them loose in northeast Louisiana. Someone forgot to tell the Robertsons you should be running around with iPhones stuck to your noses. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – I have this story here, this opinion piece in The American Conservative Magazine, at amconmag.com. It’s written by Sean Scallon under the title of “The Nationalist Left Rises.” After Scallon goes through a bit of the history of what liberals used to say about the military superstate and what they say today about the military superstate now that Obama’s running it are two totally separate things. Then he gets into the real threat from the nationalist left. This is where the millennial generation comes in. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – I would like to discover here, I continue on my voyage of discovery, what in the Hades is a neoconfederate sympathy? Does having a neoconfederate sympathy mean you had a relative who was shot and killed at Antietam and you put flowers on their grave and you don’t pitch a hissy fit because there’s a Confederate battle flag on the grave marker? Is that a Confederate sympathy? Is it a Confederate sympathy because you watch Gone with the Wind and think: Wow, the North really screwed and subjugated the South after that one, didn’t they? Is that a Confederate sympathy? Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – I would say to anyone that harbors this point of view, if you’re so convinced that it was the confederacy that was the antecedent for Hitler’s regime or for Lenin’s regime or for Mussolini’s regime and that’s what gave rise to it, then you might as well go across the next bridge and say it was Madison and Mason and Martin and Sherman and heaven forefend Washington who came up with the original idea. Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – By the way, Mr. Goldberg, while we’re on the subject, if you want to start convicting people and accusing them of bigotry and bile, why don’t you read to your National Review Online audience -- or would you like me to do it for you? -- some of the more particular and unbelievably racist sentiments and writings of the great Abraham Lincoln? Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – The decepticon establishment -- you know them as neocons; I call them decepticons. This is just one of many things that’s going to be done in an effort to try and stop the rise of Senator Paul, because Paul poses an imminent threat. That’s how I view it, Andrew. You may not view it like that. You may view it as the good citizens of the Washington Beacon doing their due diligence and sparing all the rest of us from the horrors of the writings of the Southern Avenger. I view this as a hit against Rand. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – The Public Policy Polling Institute is out with a new poll that claims that people that live in red states and Southern states are clamoring, foaming at the mouth for the federal leviathan to pass all kinds of fancy, restrictive, tyrannical new gun background check laws. By overwhelming majorities you people are pining away for this. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – That’s what we did with Is Davis A Traitor? It is, in our opinion and in the opinion of many people, the greatest book ever written about not only was secession a constitutional right prior to the war of 1861, but on the Constitution as a compact and the theory behind it and the facts of the case. There’s even a chapter in the book that’s called “The Facts of the Case.” It’s just a marvelous book that’s been lost to time. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Audio and Transcript - This is Mike's response to Andrew from New York, which you can listen to in today's audio. "The New York, Yankee elite cannot see the attraction or the worthiness of the Southern gentleman. No wonder you bombed us back into the stone ages, Andrew. You’re a perfect example. This is exactly the attitude that your forefathers had. They can’t understand the usefulness of these guys hanging out at their plantations. Let me give you an example of some of these guys that you just described were useless. Jefferson was one, Washington, Madison, Taylor of Caroline, Mason, Richard Henry Lee. I can go on for about another three and a half hours if you like. They all fit that character that I described, that Weaver was describing there. You don’t see the usefulness of those guys. That’s interesting, isn’t it, folks? I appreciate the window into the fact that not much has changed since 1861, Andrew. Thank you very much."

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Audio and Transcript - Today on The Imaginative Conservative website, Clyde Wilson, the inimitable Clyde Wilson, one of the great living legends of Southern literature -- you may know that he co-wrote the book with Brion McClanahan Forgotten Conservatives in American History. Wilson writes this about the great Russell Kirk, the father of the modern conservative movement, a man that I think many of us would do well to emulate, to study, and to study what Kirk studied...
