This Day in Founding Fathers History - Where we bring you important dates in the lives and history of the Founding Generation. One notable birthday on this day in 1944, that of a well-known libertarian, non-interventionist student of Austrian economic theory and supporter of former Congressman Ron Paul, Lew Rockwell.

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Video and Audio - Southern Avenging no more: Jack Hunter confesses his sins to the new politico magazine including the whole "Southern Avenger" routine and many of his S.A. beliefs. So, folks, JACK is what happens when you step outside the index card our federal and party overlords have written our pre-approved dialogue and opinions on. Unfortunately, Jack lives and works in Mordor (D.C. for the newbies out there), so if he wanted to continue working there he almost had to write this. Whether he wanted to write it or not, someone probably stepped in and said "Jack, you're never going to work in this city again" unless he wrote this apology. It's sad too because this is yet another step to completely eliminate everything of southern culture, from the rebel flag to gentlemanly virtues, it's all being imported from the North now. Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – This is a complicated political question. Congress and the Lincoln administration did not reach a legal determination; they reached a political determination. There is a difference between the two. As a matter of fact, one of the subjects on tonight’s video presentation at MikeChurch.com will be Professor Brion McClanahan on this subject of the Constitution and secession. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Video and Audio - There's a petition by a group of truckers to just take a weekend off and essentially shut down America. Think about the message that will send to Washington DC. Are people finally starting to realize that they hold the power in this country? States such as Maryland are at least discussing secession. That fact alone should give many of you hope. How often was secession discussed in the last 100 years? With information available to so many people at their fingertips, it empowers people to realize that THEY have the power in this country, in this government. Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Transcript - What it takes to be a constitutional expert today is to have gone to a law school on the East Coast, it’s as simple as that, and to have had some professor profess to teach the subject. What they actually teach, if they teach at all, is they teach Supreme Court history. It’s not really Constitution history; it’s Supreme Court history. Constitution history is a fairly straightforward field of study. If one were to undertake a field of exploration in constitutional matters, then you would start with my docudrama, Fame of Our Fathers, and you would first answer the question “Why?” Read more in today's transcript...

Ladies and gentlemen, if you look at the cover of Newsweek magazine this week, I dont have AG, see if you can find this for me. Somebody sent it to me last night, and I was just so exhausted yesterday I passed out with my MacBook in my hand. And I know that page is open because I was reading it, but I dont have it here in front of me. Its a story about how the Founding Fathers were a bunch of creeps. These men are not to be embalmed or held high. They were a bunch of atheistic gamblers and what have you here. There was nothing extraordinary about them, so we should get over it.

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Video and Audio - Many people think that Edward Snowden should be tried for treason, including Michele Bachmann. Well, maybe we should go over the definition of treason, traitors, and how people like George Washington dealt with them. Washington dealt with numerous traitors but he was very cautious with how he dealt with them and didn't over-react. Sir Francis Bacon said that there was one of two ways that there was one of two ways that men that who were seeking fame and building empires, they could either be successful and be labelled Patriots, or they could fail and be labelled Traitors. Snowden was not trying to bring about an end to the Federal Government. He was simply a concerned citizen who saw something going on that he felt that other people should know about, and he did what he thought was right. Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – If anyone would have stood up at the Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, New York, Virginia, or South Carolina ratification hearings and said a future attorney general of the United States would be having press conferences about whether or not he was going to choose to strike down a legal statute passed by the legislature or ballot initiative of any state that did not contravene any of the enumerated powers granted to the general government under the Constitution, we would not have a Constitution today. Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Video and Audio - Approximately 240 years ago the Congress and Senate were supposed to have their first meeting to elect the first President of the United States of America... but not enough Senators showed up to form a quorum. There were enough Congressmen there, but it took them several weeks and numerous letters to get some of the Senators (ahem,Virginia, ahem) there. And of course, when enough finally got to Federal Hall in New York, they elected George Washington first President of the United States of America... but still not everyone was there and some of the states still had not ratified the Constitution. Can you imagine something like that happening today? Senators and congressmen not attending the Inauguration or the first day of a new session? They would be absolutely scorned in public. But many members of the first Congress were apathetic and ambivalent to their office, since it didn't have much authority anyways... Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Video and Audio - On today's Founders TV Mike goes over the history of the Republican Party and it may not be what you've been taught... The Republican Party isn't the "Defenders of the Constitution" that the current party has supposedly made themselves out to be, in fact, if you were a little r [r]epublican back before Lincoln, you were most likely... A DEMOCRAT! Be sure and grab a Founders Pass to check out the rest of the show!

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Transcript - What you’re basically describing to me is that you desire a return to a very healthy and energetic form of federalism, which is what you could have under a federal system as envisioned and ordered by the U.S. Constitution. Unfortunately, that is not what we currently have. There is an attempt at federalism but it’s abandoned all too easily. There are a few people that are actually dedicated and devoted to it. I’d say that in the national legislature, there are probably less than ten percent of the people that are dedicated to the proposition that the Constitution lays out for a federal system of government. Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Transcript - The Bill of Rights is coming around at a time when Rhode Island and North Carolina are refusing to ratify. They’re still terrified of the new government. Do you really think the first ten amendments were put in there so the federal government could order the states about? It’s just ridiculous. Of course, I understand many of you have been bludgeoned over the head with a lie your entire lives over what the Constitution is and what the Bill of Rights is, what they originally mean and how they are to be used. Thankfully, we have historical research now and we can disprove these things. Check out the rest in today's transcript...

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Video and Audio - How many of you think that George Washington would have accepted all of the accoutrements that Petraeus did as head of the CIA? Do you think Washington would have taken a 28 horse entourage from the airport (had they been around) to his mistresses house? I think not, his honor would not have let him. Well, the guys that run our country now have it pretty easy, police escorts, a staff to read everything important for them, chef to cook their meals, etc. If you wonder how he could have behaved so badly, just look at his lifestyle... he was spoiled rotten. Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Audio and Transcript - Faith, family, dress, these are all themes of the revolution that’s going on, I believe, out there in many of your households already, and that is for the American man, the American husband, the husband that is an American, the man that is an American, the civic leaders have to reemerge and reassert. Be a man; don’t be a feminist. You’re not a feminist, you’re a man for God’s sake, act like it. That doesn’t mean you run around slapping women and that you’re from the slap-a-ho tribe or anything like that. Sorry for the vulgarity, it fits. What it means is you rediscover those gentlemanly things and qualities that men like Washington and Robert E. Lee had. Check out the rest in today's audio and transcript...

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Video and Audio - On todays Founders TV we discuss Gary Johnsons role at tonights debate… or lack thereof. Mr. Johnson should be at tonights debate but because of a BI-partisan committee (not NON-partisan), he is being left out. We also compare Washington and his Inaugural Address to Romney and Obama and just how much the people and the way they lead have changed over the years. If you have a Founders Pass you can enjoy the entire show, if not, sign up for one now.

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Audio and Transcript - This is Mike's response to Andrew from New York, which you can listen to in today's audio. "The New York, Yankee elite cannot see the attraction or the worthiness of the Southern gentleman. No wonder you bombed us back into the stone ages, Andrew. You’re a perfect example. This is exactly the attitude that your forefathers had. They can’t understand the usefulness of these guys hanging out at their plantations. Let me give you an example of some of these guys that you just described were useless. Jefferson was one, Washington, Madison, Taylor of Caroline, Mason, Richard Henry Lee. I can go on for about another three and a half hours if you like. They all fit that character that I described, that Weaver was describing there. You don’t see the usefulness of those guys. That’s interesting, isn’t it, folks? I appreciate the window into the fact that not much has changed since 1861, Andrew. Thank you very much."

Mandeville, LA - Exclusive Transcript - The true conservative in the mold of [r]epublicans like Madison and Washington and Taylor of Caroline and the Englishman Burke and 20th century versions you would find like Tolkien and C.S. Elliott and Russell Kirk and others, they would not recognize today’s conservatives. I think that says an awful lot of bad things about today’s conservatives. I used to ask the question: what is it that we want to conserve? It’s not all about politics. Sometimes it’s about literature, sometimes it’s about manners, sometimes there are matters of faith, matters of virtue and character. These are the things that ought to describe the conservative. It seems to me that you find that liberals are more open to saying the culture of every other country doesn’t suck, as you’ll hear many conservatives “That country stinks. They’re knocking America. They stink.” The conservative acknowledges that there are other cultures that are just as viable as ours and that maybe we can even learn things from them. Check out the rest in the transcript...
