Caller Chuck:  It’s an inevitability, though, Mike, at this point, and I don’t know how we can turn that around.  How can that ever be changed?  Our generation was raised with a different code and a different ethic and we’re Americans.

Marxist sodomite vampires.  The Marxist sodomite vampires won one in Ireland Saturday.  Congratulations.  My point is, when Saint Patrick arrived in Ireland, there were Marxist sodomite vampires.  They couldn’t have been Marxist, so maybe they were Orwellian or Julian sodomite vampires because they were Roman.  He converted them.

I asked the question the other day – people say this doesn’t matter and that doesn’t matter.  I asked the question the other day to a friend of mine, and it was one of the things that Chesterton wrote in his book Orthodoxy.  Every era of error has its saint.  God sends saints to correct the evil that men do.  At the time of the Crusades, he sent St. Francis of Assisi.  At the time of the revolution, he sent St. Thomas More, St. Robert Bellarmine and others.  At the time of the upheaval that began the Progressive era, he sent Pope Leo and then he sent St. Pope Pius X.  St. Pope Pius X made the strongest blow or offered the strongest defense and rejection of modernity, that we are currently possessed of, of any person of the entire 20^th Century.  That’s why he’s St. Pope Pius X.

If you want to read something that is, regardless of your ecumenical status or affiliation, read Pius X’s condemnation of modernity and a pledge that he required all priests and bishops to take back in 1908 or so.  If you’re looking for something to send to a progressive or to rebuke or write against the error of modern times and all the pornography and all the other moral atrocities that we are possessed of, read Pius X’s pledge.  Some priests still take this.  They’re not required to any longer, thanks to the shenanigans of Vatican II.  That is something that you can interject, that maybe some of the bishops in Ireland probably rejected and didn’t take, I’m thinking.  People certainly didn’t take it.

We need saints, Chuck.  That’s a longwinded way for me to get to the answer.  The answer is we need saints.  Where are the saints?  I say, though, to the question that is posed when it comes to the youth, when it comes to young people, we have ourselves to blame for this.  We educated them.  Our taxes paid for the schools that educated them.  Our taxes paid for the legal system that perverted the moral code once taught by some of those schools.  We gave our acquiescence to the sexual revolution, too many of us.  We gave our acquiescence to the sick, immoral concept of population control through birth control, as it’s popularly called today.  We gave our acquiescence to the murder of the unborn or the soon-to-be-born through abortion.  We gave and provided our taxes to support undeclared wars of intervention to support undeclared wars of intervention that resulted in the loss of life of innocent civilians that had no hand in making the conflicts that our politicians sent our military and ordnance into.

We only have ourselves to blame.  You can blame Obama all you want.  You can blame Hollywood all you want.  Where does Hollywood get its money from?  Hollywood gets its money from us.  We fund it.  If you don’t like what Hollywood is producing, stop watching it.  It’s pretty simple.  If you don’t like the near-soft-core porn that passes for country music today, stop listening to it. To blame others when you’re talking about the youth, maybe we should be better examples as adults.  Maybe, perhaps?  Maybe we should curb the things that we listen to.  If you take your 12-year-old daughter to go watch half-naked performers, half-naked women perform pop songs, what are you doing?  What have we done?

There was a story in The Guardian on Saturday of Dame Shirley Bassey expressing her shock at some of the things that pass as pop music today and some of the getups that young women wear that purvey said pop music.  Who is really to blame?  I’m to blame.  I’ll take my share.  I try to atone for it every day.  Who’s really to blame for our state of dress today, for example?  Who is to blame?  Whose fault is that, for the lack of modesty in our young women today?  Who’s to blame for that?  It’s our fault.  It’s nobody else’s fault.
