UPDATED:  On September 28th, Mike Church told you that the reason Speaker Boehner quit was because his Catholicism was brought to bear on him by Pope Francis. Mike reiterated this over and over again and then after Vice President Biden announced he wouldn’t run for President and instead started talking like a Catholic last week that he too was felled by “The Francis Effect”. Lo and behold Speaker Boehner just confirmed Mike’s prediction on his last day in Congress. Here is Mike’s monologue on The Francis Effect last Thursday Oct 22.

Mike:  . . . Friday’s program went off without a hitch and that callers were friendly to him and he had a good time.  We got to talk a little bit about the subject that I was approaching while the Ted Nugent music was playing, about John Boehner quitting Congress, which happened — I guess the news started coming out on Friday morning.  We were on the way to the golf course for the ASK Foundation charity golf tournament.  My phone started buzzing and beeping and vibrating and ringing and dinging and donging: Mike, have you heard?  Boehner quit.  What do you mean Boehner quit?  Yeah, Boehner’s going to quit.  At first I thought he was just going to step down as speaker and would not oppose those who would run against him, like our friend Louie Gohmert, for example.  Then the news developed that he actually quit.  He’s going to resign his seat in the imperial congress.  You mean Boehner is actually going to not be a congressman anymore?  He’s going to surrender his share of the $4 trillion booty that is divided up every year and distributed amongst the 435 + 100 alleged senators, surrender his seat at the table so to speak?  He actually quit Congress.  Of course, then the stories began to appear as to try and explain why Boehner might have quit.

In the last hour of the program today, we’ll have someone on that has been covering this story and might have some insight into it.  I’m just curious, since I wasn’t here on Friday and was not able — Matt Boyle from Breitbart.com will be with us.  I was not able to comment on this and was not active on Friday.

Why has no one made the connection or even attempted to make the connection that Speaker Boehner quit, announced his resignation or rumored his resignation shortly after meeting with Pope Francis?  It seems to me that that’s the most likely connection that one could make.  Boehner famously being talked about, being teary-eyed standing behind the Holy Father as he addressed Congress on Thursday, being teary-eyed as he came out on the speaker’s balcony after a private meeting with the Pope on Thursday.  Boehner was rumored to have been moved by his conversations with Francis.  Why wouldn’t it then follow that Boehner was moved to resign his speakership after his meeting with the Pope?  It seems to me that that would be the most likely culprit, if you will, in the demise of Boehner’s speakership.

boehner fiscal cliffThen if we were to listen to the speaker answering the question as to why he resigned and why he was going to resign on Meet the Press – this morning on the Clinton News Network, they were all abuzz with, [mocking] “Speaker Boehner lashes out at conservatives.  Speaker Boehner, in the final move of his speakership” — what’s the proper terminology for that?  Is it speakership, speakerhood? — “in the final move of his speakership fires a shot across the bow of right-wing radicals, ‘You’re not going to get me.  I’m not going to go along with your plans, bucko.’”  But Boehner then purportedly says that he can’t deal with or does not wish to deal with “conservatives” any longer.  You people have been ringing his phone off the hook.  You’ve been sending him email.  You’ve been bashing him.  As a matter of fact, W. James Antle III writes that if you want to get an applause line at a “conservative” gathering, mention that you were instrumental in the demise of the Boehner speakership, that you were there at the genesis moment when the speaker decided to call it quits and made way for Kevin McCarthy to come in and ratchet up defense spending.  Yes, that’ll placate and make happy all the alleged “conservatives.”  Who will apparently succeed Boehner will be Kevin McCarthy.

Back to the original question: Why has no one made the connection that Boehner may have been put up to this or been inspired to do this as a result of his conversations with Pope Francis?  Maybe the Pope told him in private quarters and private conversation: Dude, you lead a political body that continues to do and practice and promote and fund illicit, diabolical activities.  In five years, you have done nothing or little to stem that.  You’ve been unable to stop it.  You’re in a serious state of error, son.  If you continue on in this, you run the risk of jeopardizing your eternal, immortal soul.  Maybe for the good of yourself, your family, and your soul, you ought to quit.  Think of it like this.  The libs could actually blame the Pope for this.

For those that think that Congress is out of control — and it is — and that it does little to act upon the wishes and desires of the politically “conservative,” that those nasty right-wingers — that means you fair listener, and me — finally got a prize head mounted in that of Boehner.  We finally got rid of a pro-government guy.  [mocking] “You just wait and see, Mitter Church.  Now Congress can do what they have been promising to do now that Boehner is out of the way.”  I respond to that and say to you: Goodie!  I can’t wait for this to happen just to demonstrate — not that I wish for any of us to have to suffer political malady any longer — but just to demonstrate that it was never Boehner that was the architect or the designer or the planner of big Republican government.  It’s the party.

It doesn’t matter who you put in that position.  You’re going to see this borne out in real time.  Mark my words.  That’s what’s going to happen.  When McCarthy — if it is indeed McCarthy – when Kevin McCarthy is

lashed out at or Mike Rogers of Kentucky or whoever it is that becomes the next Speaker is then lashed out at because government spending continues to increase, the thing that “conservatives” wish to have happen, wish to have done in the people’s house is not done, then perhaps the remaining shoe will drop and many people will then come to realize what many of you listening right now already know, and that is party is in it for the party and the party’s partisans’ sake.  Always has been and always will be.  This is the way the system is designed to work.  It works flawlessly.  It works to the benefit of those that finance it, those that fund it, those that plan it, not coincidentally.

I received a message on Friday of someone telling me: Of all days for you to not show up to work, of all days for you to take a day off and powder your nose, pal, you picked the day after the Pope speaks to Congress.  You intentionally did this.  Yes, I knew months in advance that the Pope was going to speak to the Congress and planned — I actually asked the folks who run the ASK Foundation golf tournament: Please, can you move your tournament to the day after the Pope is going to speak so I don’t have to be on air that day?
