Whether there are 20 or only a handful of Republican candidates on a debate stage, Paul will be alone in his infatuation with the Obama-Hillary Clinton-John Kerry school of diplomacy (not backed up by the credible threat of force) and his conviction that U.S. involvement makes the world more dangerous. Mike:  First of all, there is no evidence that Mrs. Clinton, Obama, and John Kerry aren’t every bit the international gangsters that McCain and Graham are, Ms. Rubin.  They may not do it with quite the bravado that you wish them to do it with.  But I would remind you, madam, that it was Mrs. Clinton’s idea, she’s the one that convinced Obama that we needed to take out Gaddafi.  It was Mrs. Clinton’s idea that we should assist NATO in assassinating the legitimate ruler of the country of Libya, throwing it into terrorist chaos.  A condition in which — talking about the world being more dangerous — in which it is still firmly ensconced.  It was Mrs. Clinton’s idea that we should back the nutjob lunatics in Egypt or in the Arab Spring and bring about disorder, chaos, and terrorism to the Egyptians.  Don’t forget Mrs. Clinton, Ms. Rubin, voted for your precious invasion of Iraq in 2003 and then had to explain it all throughout the campaign in 2008, [mocking Clinton] “No, I didn’t vote for this continuation of war!”  I don’t know how Hillary gets a pass as some kind of a dove.  She’s anything but a dove, and she’s not even a smart interventionist.

Ditto that for John Kerry, Ms. Rubin.  It was John “Rambo” Kerry that went to Paris and then went near Syria to threaten the Syrian government with an imminent invasion because he knew, [mocking Kerry] “Bashar Al-Assad has gassed his own people.  If this aggression stands, the world won’t be safe from chemical weapons.”  We were told that by then-Secretary of State Kerry.  I’ve already mentioned Obama and the kill list.  The president has returned troops to the Arabian Peninsula, madam.  [mocking] “Yeah, but he took them out of the right war.”  Yes, right, war, war, war, kill, kill, kill.

Folks, the message that’s being developed here in the early stages of campaign 2016 is very simple.  We’re going to elect a Republican that is going to lead us into World War III.  This is what they desire.  This is what many of you want.  You’re going to get it.  I fear you’re going to get it.  I weep over the fact that you’re going to get it.  If you maniacs don’t succeed in starting a war with the Russians, you’ll find someone else to take the bait.  War is the health of the State.  The Republican Party is drunk with war fever.  The drums are beating.  They were beating at the so-called Freedom Summit.  They’re beating on the pages of the Washington Post.  They’re beating on the pages of National Review, etc., etc.  I’m told they beat here when I’m not here.

If you’re a noninterventionist, a [r]epublican, if you take the counsel of Washington, if you take the counsel of John Quincy Adams, if you take the counsel of James Monroe, if you take the counsel of Christ seriously — because this is where just war theory comes from — yes, promulgated by Augustine.  Augustine didn’t just make it up.  Peace should be in your vocabulary.  No, that does not again mean that you have to disarm.  We’ve been over this before.  For the three of you that are now left — there were four when I began this discussion; there are now three.  You know where it ends.

My advice to you, if you would like it, if you are one of the three [r]epublicans left — as David Simpson likes to say — by the way, David will be here tomorrow for the last hour of the show for Wisdom Wednesdays.  Find yourself a mountaintop, your own water supply, someplace where you can grow food, and become a real Remnant.  Patrick J. Buchanan is not buying any of this either.

“The Iranians are on the march,” warned John McCain Sunday.

“Iran is building a new Persian Empire,” echoed Col. Ralph Peters.

So alarmed is Speaker John Boehner, he invited Bibi Netanyahu to come and challenge U.S. policy toward Iran from the same podium where the president delivered his State of the Union address.

Netanyahu will make the case for new U.S. sanctions on Iran; sanctions that Obama has said he will veto as they would sabotage talks on Iran’s nuclear program and potentially put us on the road to war.

Why are Netanyahu’s insights needed?

Because, says Sen. Robert Menendez, the outgoing chairman of foreign relations, White House statements sound like “talking points from Tehran.” This beloved poodle of AIPAC is always a strong contender for best in show.

“Against the insidious wiles of foreign influence … a free people ought to be constantly awake, since history and experience prove that foreign influence is one of the most baneful foes of republican government.”

So warned our first and greatest president in his Farewell Address.

But this column is not about how Washington would weep at what has become of this Republic, nor a polemic against the corruption of a capital where the currency is campaign cash and national policy is the commodity bought and sold.

The issue is whether Iran represents a threat to our security worth risking a war. For that is where many, including Netanyahu, want us to go.

Last week’s panic was triggered by the ouster of the pro-American Yemeni president by Houthi rebels. Suddenly, we heard wails that Iran has now captured four Arab capitals — Baghdad, Beirut, Damascus and Sanaa.

“Death to America, death to Israel,” is a slogan of the Houthis who are a Shia minority in Sunni Yemen. But who do the Houthis view as their mortal foes?

Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula, AQAP. Our enemy, too.

The crown jewel of the new “Persian Empire” is said to be Iraq. So how did the Iranian imperialists manage to acquire it?

George Bush sent an army up to Baghdad, ousted Iran’s greatest enemy, Saddam, disbanded his army, smashed his state, and brought to power a Shia majority with religious and historic bonds to Iran. A masterstroke of Bismarckian brilliance. And both parties voted in Congress to authorize it. Mission Accomplished! — as they say in Tehran.

As for Damascus, Iran is backing the Alawite Shia regime of Bashar Assad, whose father, Hafez Assad, was Bush I’s ally in Desert Storm. [Mike: I suggest you read the rest of Buchanan.]

The U.S. intelligence community has twice said Iran has no nuclear bomb program. And the most recent finding, 2011, has never been reversed by the Director of National Intelligence.

And just how credible a foreign leader has Boehner invited to undercut his own president’s credibility? This is the same Netanyahu who told the Jewish community of Los Angeles in 2006, “It’s 1938 and Iran is Germany … racing to arm itself with atomic bombs.” [Mike: For Heaven’s sake, folks, that was nine years ago the doom was predicted.] President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad “is preparing another Holocaust for the Jewish state.” Netanyahu even had the war plans:

“Israel would certainly be the first stop on Iran’s tour of destruction, but at (Tehran’s) planned production rate of 25 nuclear bombs a year, (the arsenal) will be directed against ‘the big Satan,’ the U.S.” Twenty-five Iranian nuclear bombs a year! What bullhockey it all was.

Boehner seems to have concluded that new sanctions on Iran, even if it aborts negotiations and brings on a war with Iran, will be rewarded by the electorate in 2016. Perhaps. But if this is where the GOP is heading, we’ll be getting off here.

Mike:  Folks, they’re trying to get rid of us.  Many of you say: Mike, we’re not really Republicans anymore anyway.  Lindsey Graham and company and Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz and the rest of them are going to finish the job.  They’re going to finish the job.  Before I conclude this segment, I’ll ask a simple question and make a simple proposition.  You people out there drunk with p ride, arrogance, and hubris, so convinced that this is the appropriate course of action, willing to scream and holler and shout anyone else down that disagrees with you and that counsels that you should always continue the diplomacy, at the end of the diplomacy, the threat of war against a foreign entity 7,000 miles removed from here seems a bit ridiculous.

I know I’m going to get fed the line here about Germany.  Well, Germany in 1935 doesn’t happen if Wilson doesn’t intervene in 1917.  That war ends drastically different.  Weimar Republic probably never happens.  The Kaiser is probably never embarrassed to the point and the German people are never subjugated to the point where a Hitler is even possible.  By the bye, Buchanan has written an entire book about that.  He’s not the only one, though.

I posit a simple question.  If you want to do this, if you answer yes, then the policy and what Congress needs to do, you need to get together.  You need to get the votes cobbled together in Congress.  You need to authorize this as a declaration of war.  What a fanciful term.  Gee, I wonder where I got that from?  Oh, the Constitution, that’s right.  Declare a war against the nation-state of Iran.  Then reinstitute the illegal, unconstitutional draft, you’re going to have

to.  You’re going to need an army of seven to ten million men.  By the way, if you think you’re struggling financially now, put your money where your national defense mouth is.  We ought to then triple the tax burden on the American sheeple to see to it that we don’t have to borrow our children’s money in order to fund this atrocity.  Let’s fund it correctly, let’s raise the proper-sized army, and let’s be prepared for a 70-years-long occupation, just like it took in the aftermath of World War II.

Mike has been talking about many different ways to deal with the American Union & it’s attack dog, the “Federal” government –There’s Article V & Nullification too.

I’m simply saying if you want to do it, do it correctly.  Declare war, raise an army, and then raise the funds.  We can’t borrow any more money because there’s no borrowing authority left.  There’s printing authority.  You can either raise the money directly from the American sheeple or you can inflate the currency.  Either way you’ll be taking it from us.  At least this way the effort is funded partially.  The children aren’t on the hook.  There’s no precedent — actually, there is the precedent of the military armament and war machine build-up from 1941 to 1945.  There’s ample evidence that this is not only possible but doable.  It’s been done before.  There were nine million men that had to be discharged from the ranks of the United States Armed Forces at the end of World War II and returned to the civilian workforce.  That was principally accomplished.  This is all doable.
