Mike:  Just ask Target.

Kids visiting Target will no longer have to consider their gender while shopping. [Mike: You don’t say? This story is so ridiculous, I don’t even want to read it to you but I will.]

The retailer announced Friday it will start removing gender-based labeling in several departments — including toys, bedding and entertainment — around the store. The company says the decision comes after feedback and suggestions from customers.

Mike:  Folks, if you go to the story in the USA Today, look at the tweet that is posted in the story.  It’s from a child, some kid that has a Twitter account that’s upset that target wants him to shop in the boys department.  He doesn’t want to be a little boy.  He wants to be a little girl

, you see.  Just when you think it can’t get any more ridiculous, any more preposterous, it exceeds all expectations, does it not?

“As guests have pointed out, in some departments like toys, home or entertainment, suggesting products by gender is unnecessary,” reads a statement from Target. “We heard you, and we agree. Right now, our teams are working across the store to identify areas where we can phase out gender-based signage to help strike a better balance.” [Mike: A better balance for who? This is just quite unbelievable, is it not?]

The decision will change elements beyond just the signage in these departments. In the children’s toys area of the store, Target plans to remove pink, blue, yellow and green paper on the back of the walls to eliminate references or suggestions based on gender.

Mike:  Wait a minute.  Are you now saying that if I place the wrong color on something I could be censured for being some gender-specific curmudgeon, some gender-specific totalitarian?  [mocking] “You tyrant!”  Do we need to drop terms like sir and ma’am?  Let’s circle the wagons back before we continue any further with this story.  If it’s good for children, since children grow to be adults, this must socialize them to be adults and it must be good for adults, too.  What could possibly have been meant by Donald Trump’s question and why would anyone even obsess over it, “blood coming out of her mouth and out of her wherever.”  Since there really is no her, that’s just a self-imposed distinction, you see.  It’s not really based in reality or anything like that.  It’s just based on whatever you think.  He said the same thing about Chris Wallace.  There should be no controversy whatsoever, right?  Would you want your daughters to be waiting around for the knight that gallops up on the white horse with his armor all gleaning and shining?

Customers and Facebook users expressed their views on the statement, signaling satisfaction and disappointment with the retail store.

“This is the dumbest thing I have ever heard,” wrote John Wilson. “A boy is a boy and a girl is a girl…and products are specifically made for each.”

“Target is not saying that genders don’t exist,” wrote Amy Severtsen Stanwood. “They are simply recognizing that toys and bedding do not have genders. Mingling superhero action figures with other dolls isn’t going to cause children to suddenly question who/what they are.”

[end reading]

Mike:  Apparently it has caused their imbecilic parents to question who or what they are.  Any person that goes to a store and leaves a store offended as a result of a sign or the color that a room is painted has some serious issues dealing with reality.  The customer is always right, remember?

To bring this all back to now Trump vs Megyn Kelly.  Here’s just one example.  I wrote about this on the website at MikeChurch.com and on Facebook.  “Thank You, Megan Kelly,” posted by Rod Dreher.  Rod Dreher is outraged over this.

The Fox News anchor’s question allowed Trump to do what everybody who has followed him over the years knew he would eventually do: expose himself as the pig that he is, always was, and always will be:

Donald Trump is once again pushing the limit, bringing Megyn Kelly’s anatomy into a feud that had already opened him to charges of sexism — and the risk of losing support among the Fox News anchor’s rabid following.

[end reading]

Mike:  You see, you’re making gender judgments here, Rod.  You don’t know that he was bringing anatomy into this.  Even if we do, we should ignore it because she doesn’t have any anatomy.  That’s only what she’s stuck with currently.  Right, Caitlyn?  I hope that the folly of all this is coming through.  Where is the original folly?  The original folly is in what?  It’s in the original error.  What’s the original error?  Denying that there is an agreed-upon truth and from that truth there is an agreed-upon, singular code of moral conduct.  There’s not 38,000 of them; there’s one.  Of course, [mocking] “We can’t make that connection.  We’re not going to live under a theocracy.”  You live under a theocracy.  It’s just run by madmen called politicians and regulators.  The state is a religion.  We live under an imposed theology.  You can call it whatever you want.  [mocking] “No, it’s government.”  No, it’s theology.  The only thing missing from it, it’s not sacred and it’s not ever going to be sacred.

After a day of escalating hostility, Trump took his attacks on Kelly to the next level on Friday night, apparently insinuating that the moderator had been menstruating when . . .

Mike:  Again, that’s not possible because she doesn’t have a gender.  We cannot assign a gender to her so how can she possibly have something going on with her that actually is specific to women?  We must not allow this.  Somebody get the Kotex Corporation on the line.  I wish to discuss something with them.  They need to stop marketing tampons and other feminine hygiene products in pink boxes.  What are you doing?  You’re making women think they’re actual women.  You need to start marketing those things in black boxes.  They need to look macho.  Right, target?  Back to Dreher:

The crudeness of the comment sparked an immediate flurry of rebukes, including from RedState.com’s Erick Erickson who revoked an invitation for Trump to speak at his Saturday conference on the grounds that it showed he wasn’t a “legitimate” candidate.

Good for Erick Erickson. The sooner decent Republicans understand what a troll Trump is and turn away from him, the better for all of us.

[end reading]

Mike:  I’m going to stop right there.  Donald Trump is the logical end result of the current modern obsession with the obscene, the current modern obsession with the offensive, the current modern obsession with the immodest and the immoral.
