Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript“I’m reading from Thomas Frank, today’s Guardian UK.  Thomas Frank is a very notable lib who is reading the Podesta / WikiLeaks emails with the same horror that you and I have read them with.  These people call this politics as usual.  What we should call it is corrupt, collusion, criminal activity that we don’t want anything to do with.”  Check out today’s transcript for the rest….

Mike:  This is the ruling elite of which we speak all the time.  Folks, on yesterday’s show when I talked about: How did they get this paradigm?  How did they force feed us?  Why do we continue to accept this paradigm?  When I say paradigm, I mean like – I guess I could get Webster’s out and define paradigm.  This system and manner of executing affairs is a paradigm.  For example, the old paradigm of transportation was what?  Horse and buggy, for five, six, seven millennia.  Chariot, horse and buggy, whatever you wish to call it.  That paradigm was replaced by the steel horse, the locomotive.  Then the steam ship.  Sails were replaced by steam.  That’s a change in paradigm.  The paradigm of the iron horse or steel horse, whatever you want to call it, was replaced by what?  The motorcar.  That’s a change in paradigm.

So what has happened is that the life that was lived by a citizen member of Christendom was replaced by this modern paradigm we call the American dream.  More like the American nightmare.  If our intentions are clear that all we do is pointed towards trying to obtain a blessed eternity and not a cursed one.  The paradigm that we currently practice is as corrupt and rotten as the paradigm of the pagans at the time of Christ.  But we can rest assured the gates of Hell have not prevailed against His church.  Just as the evil Romans or diabolical pagan Romans were ultimately cast away to make room for the rise of Christendom and the Holy Roman Empire and all the other Catholic papal states in Italy and the spread of Christianity throughout all of Europe till it became what we know today as Christendom, we can rest assured that the power of Our Lord, the power of the Church, the power of its teaching, of the transcendent truth can overcome all of this.

This is what is evolving with my thought anyways.  We’ve got to stop this cynical crying and carping and complaining.  That is not the Christian way.  That’s not what we’re supposed to be doing.  In the readings today for All Saints Day, we read – I don’t have it here in front of me.  The gospel reading at mass this morning was on the beatitudes, the Sermon on the Mount.  Blessed are they who are going to be persecuted in my name for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.  Be happy you’re being persecuted.  Be happy times are bad.  We live in the time when saints can be made.  Stop whining about it.  Also, start giving credit where credit is due.  When we do see victories, it’s because we’re praying hard.  We shouldn’t take credit for that.  We should take solace and heart in that.  Good grief, folks.  Does anybody listen anymore?  Seriously.  [mocking] “Mitter Church, please.  If you would talk about Hillary, they would listen.”  Back to Thomas Frank:

Let us turn the magnifying glass on them for a change, by sorting through the hacked personal emails of John Podesta, who has been a Washington power broker for decades. I admit that I feel uncomfortable digging through this hoard; stealing someone’s email is a crime, after all, and it is outrageous that people’s personal information has been exposed, since WikiLeaks doesn’t seem to have redacted the emails in any way. There is also the issue of authenticity to contend with: we don’t know absolutely and for sure that these emails were not tampered with by whoever stole them from John Podesta . . . . [Mike: Podesta knows because he hasn’t said that they’re not – he said: I don’t recall that email. You know what? I don’t recall all the emails that I’ve sent either. Do you?]

With all that taken into consideration, I think the WikiLeaks releases furnish us with an opportunity to observe the upper reaches of the American status hierarchy in all its righteousness and majesty.

The dramatis personae of the liberal class are all present in this amazing body of work . . .

Certain industries loom large and virtuous here. Hillary’s ingratiating speeches to Wall Street are well known of course, but what is remarkable is that, in the party of Jackson and Bryan and Roosevelt, smiling financiers now seem to stand on every corner, constantly proffering advice about this and that. In one now-famous email chain, for example, the reader can watch current US trade representative Michael Froman, writing from a Citibank email address in 2008, appear to name President Obama’s cabinet even before the great hope-and-change election was decided (incidentally, an important clue to understanding why that greatest of zombie banks was never put out of its misery).

The far-sighted innovators of Silicon Valley are also here in force, interacting all the time with the leaders of the party of the people. [Mike: By the way, did you know that the rumor is that Mrs. Clinton is going to try and appoint Mark Zuckerberg’s wife, the founder of Facebook’s wife as Treasury Secretary? Talk about a payback for all the censoring that’s going on on Facebook. That’s not me, by the way. That is a story that is out there that I saw last night.] We watch as Podesta appears to email Sheryl Sandberg. He makes plans to visit Mark Zuckerberg [Mike: I’m sorry, I said Mrs. Zuckerberg. Please retract. I retract that. She’s the COO of Facebook, Sandberg.] (who, according to one missive, wants to “learn more about next steps for his philanthropy and social action”). Podesta exchanges emails with an entrepreneur about an ugly race now unfolding for Silicon Valley’s seat in Congress; this man, in turn, appears to forward to Podesta the remarks of yet another Silicon Valley grandee, who complains that one of the Democratic combatants in that fight was criticizing billionaires who give to Democrats. Specifically, the miscreant Dem in question was said to be:

“… spinning (and attacking) donors who have supported Democrats. John Arnold and Marc Leder have both given to Cory Booker, Joe Kennedy, and others. He is also attacking every billionaire that donates to [Congressional candidate] Ro [Khanna], many whom support other Democrats as well.”

Attacking billionaires! In the year 2015! It was, one of the correspondents appears to write, “madness and political malpractice of the party to allow this to continue.”

Mike:  I’m reading from Thomas Frank, today’s Guardian UK.  Thomas Frank is a very notable lib who is reading the Podesta / WikiLeaks emails with the same horror that you and I have read them with.  These people call this politics as usual.  What we should call it is corrupt, collusion, criminal activity that we don’t want anything to do with.  We demand either, A, a respite from it, meaning we don’t have to live under it, or, B, a secession, a separation from it so that it can’t govern us with its slimy, sleazy, brazen corruption.  Folks, there are big changes on the horizon.  Again, they’re being brought about by prayer.  They’re being brought about by the faithful returning to their knees after decades of believing that the Republican Party and the conservative movement was going to save them.  It’s not.  There is a cavalry coming.  By the way, he doesn’t ride on a white horse.  He comes riding up on a donkey.  Just thought I’d drop that in.

There are wonderful things to be found in this treasure trove when you search the gilded words “Davos” or “Tahoe”. But it is when you search “Vineyard” on the WikiLeaks dump that you realize these people truly inhabit a different world from the rest of us. By “vineyard”, of course, they mean Martha’s Vineyard, the ritzy vacation resort island off the coast of Massachusetts where presidents Clinton and Obama spent most of their summer vacations. The Vineyard is a place for the very, very rich to unwind, yes, but as we learn from these emails, it is also a place of high idealism; a land of enlightened liberal commitment far beyond anything ordinary citizens can ever achieve.

Consider, for example, the 2015 email from a foundation executive to a retired mortgage banker (who then seems to have forwarded the note on to Podesta, and thus into history) expressing concern that “Hillary’s image is being torn apart in the media and there’s not enough effective push back”. The public eavesdrops as yet another financier invites Podesta to a dinner featuring “food produced exclusively by the island’s farmers and fishermen which will be matched with specially selected wines”. We learn how a Hillary campaign aide recommended that a policy statement appear on a certain day so that “It won’t get in the way of any other news we are trying to make – but far enough ahead of Hamptons and Vineyard money events”. [Mike: In other words, they were timing news policy releases so that it did not conflict with their highfaluting parties in the Hamptons. Who are these people? Good lord, folks.] We even read the pleadings of a man who wants to be invited to a state dinner at the White House and who offers, as one of several exhibits in his favor, the fact that he “joined the DSCC Majority Trust in Martha’s Vineyard (contributing over $32,400 to Democratic senators) in July 2014”. [Mike: In other words, you can buy your way in.]

Then there is the apparent nepotism, the dozens if not hundreds of mundane emails in which petitioners for this or that plum Washington job or high-profile academic appointment politely appeal to Podesta – the ward-heeler of the meritocratic elite – for a solicitous word whispered in the ear of a powerful crony.

Mike:  Folks, this was also revealed back in 2010 by Angelo Codevilla in that magnificent essay he wrote for The American Spectator.  They turned it into a little book called The Ruling Class.  By the way, this applies to Republicans, too.  Frank does go after Republicans; he usually does.  This most certainly applies to the Republican class.  I don’t know if they’re at Martha’s Vineyard or not, but I do know that they have their industrial complexes, the military-industrial complex among them, the agriculture-industrial complex.  See Representative Steve King of Iowa as an McClure_Tables_Logoexample.  See Representative Kristi Noem of Iowa as another example.  [mocking] “No, we’re Tea Party people.  We are conservative!”  How come when you get to Mordor on the Potomac you pass $996 billion ag bills?  What’s in the ag bill?  That’s right, subsidies and payoffs to Big Agra business, as they call it, the agriculture-industrial complex.  That’s what the WikiLeaks have really shown.  Frank’s conclusion is:

[reading]

Everything blurs into everything else in this world. The state department, the banks, Silicon Valley, the nonprofits, the “Global CEO Advisory Firm” that appears to have solicited donations for the Clinton Foundation. Executives here go from foundation to government to think-tank to startup. There are honors. Venture capital. Foundation grants. Endowed chairs. Advanced degrees. For them the door revolves. The friends all succeed. They break every boundary.

[end reading]

Mike:  Every one of them is a big-league success.  There are no failures in this, folks. There are very few criminals because they never allow the law to actually come to bear on them.  They’re successful in the worldly, secular terms that America says is the American Dream.
