Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – Patrick Henry said, “I only have one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that’s the lamp of experience.”  “What experience do you have with Speaker Boehner and with majority leader Cantor and the rest of the deceptiCons, the people that call themselves conservatives that are a bunch of frauds, what evidence do you have that would make you think they were ever going to hold the line on the debt ceiling?  It was never going to happen.”  Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Mike:  Patrick Henry said, “I only have one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that’s the lamp of experience.”  What experience do you have with Speaker Boehner and with majority leader Cantor and the rest of the decepticons, the people that call themselves conservatives that are a bunch of frauds, what evidence do you have that would make you think they were ever going to hold the line on the debt ceiling?  It was never going to happen.  You did hear, by the bye, that it was the Republican Caucus that was going: We kind of really like blowing things up in foreign countries and have the NSA spy on our neighbors.  We really kind of want the military spending restored.  If we do that, I could sign off on it.  But that didn’t even happen.

The House voted yesterday to raise the debt ceiling 221-201, 28 Republicans joining 193 Democrats to vote for it.  “Speaker Boehner cast a rare vote in favor of the bill.”  What do you mean he cast a rare vote in favor of the bill?  He voted for the bailout, both times.  In case some of you don’t remember or cannot recall, this is the man that went on the House of Representin’ after the first vote failed to bail out the banks and Lehman Brothers and AIG.  The first time the bailout vote failed, it was Boehner that went on the floor and cried real tears, not crocodile tears, real tears.  Some of you will remember I used to do the impersonation.  Finally they got the vote they needed.  The thing passed, as I recall, 218 to 216 or something to that effect.  Why would you think all of a sudden Congressman Boehner, Representative Boehner had grown fiscal moral turpitude.  That just defies all reasoning to me.  [private FP-Monthly|FP-Yearly|FP-Yearly-WLK|FP-Yearly-So76]

But the attacks began before the vote even took place, as soon as it was known that Boehner would bring a no-strings-attached debt ceiling hike to the floor.

“A clean debt ceiling is a complete capitulation on the Speaker’s part and demonstrates that he has lost the ability to lead the House of Representatives, let alone his own party. Speaker Boehner has failed in his duty to represent the people and as a result, it is time for him to go… Fire the Speaker,” said Tea Party Patriots co-founder Jenny Beth Martin in a statement before the vote. The statement linked to a petition to “Fire the Speaker,” and the group’s Twitter account has been tweeting since the vote asking people to call Boehner and tell him to “resign.”

Senate Conservatives Fund had a similar idea.

“John Boehner must be replaced as Speaker of the House,” reads a post on their website from before the vote.

“Instead of fighting for conservative principles, Speaker Boehner has completely surrendered to the Democrats,” the post reads, and the group launched its own petition to “Replace the Speaker.” [Mike: Sounds like a fun game. I might want to play this.]

Club for Growth lampooned the idea, flagging it as a “key vote” for their rankings of how pro-growth members are.

“When we heard that House leadership was scheduling a clean debt ceiling increase, we thought it was a joke,” wrote Club for Growth Vice President of Government Affairs Andy Roth in an email to House offices before the vote. “But it’s not. Something is very wrong with House leadership, or with the Republican Party. This is not a bill that advocates of limited government should schedule or support.”

Mike:  Folks, I have to tell you, one of these days this world is going to change.  I have to tell you, there is nothing conservative — as a matter of fact, let me phrase it like this, and this is me speaking, no one else.  This is citizen Church speaking to you.  There is no possibility on Earth, in your lifetime, that you will see any form of a “conservative” caucus in charge of the machinations of the federal government.  It’s not going to happen.  Give up.  Take your teabags, throw them into the river, and walk away.  It’s not going to happen.  Besides the fact, this is insulting and degrading to people that are actually trying to revive conservatism.

Conservatism is not attached to a political party and it is certainly not attached to politics.  This is the perversion here.  This is why I keep saying, threatening to say I’m not going to use the word “conservative” anymore because it’s a fraud.  The whole damn thing is a sham.  It’s a fraud.  It’s a scam.  It is used in a commercial sense to try and attract people to it like it’s a big, giant — you know what it is?  It’s a cult.  It is a religion.  It has become a religion just like big-government statism and our messianic State has become a religion.  The people that are using the term in this manner are just too blind and too close to it to see it.  They’re not going to see it.

The real action that is happening out there is not happening in Mordor.  The focus on Mordor is designed to do what?  Boy, they are so good at this.  What is it designed to do?  Keep you engaged.  As long as your efforts, as long as your tweets, as long as your Facebook posts, as long as your agitation, as long as your anger, as long as your passion, as long as your dollars are directed in “conservative efforts” aimed at Mordor on the Potomac River, they’re winning.  You are playing the statist game.  You don’t even realize you’re playing the statist game.  You’re worshipping the State.  You’re saying that there is a conservative way to run a socialist empire, if I can translate it for you.  I think this entire hissy fit here is ridiculous, it is preposterous.

There are you people out there, and God bless you, that have realized this deceit, have realized this fraud, refuse to play it any longer, and are now doing what is necessary to actually try and have a positive effect on the future, which is you can only control those things closest to you where you live.  You have no chance whatsoever of altering the great course of human events 5,000, 3,000, 2,000 miles away.  You’re not going to control their culture.  You’re not going to alter it.  You’re not going to control their politics.  You’re probably not going to alter them, unless you want to use the State to do so, and if you do, what does that make you?  The people that have retrenched and are now fighting in trenches in their localities, those are your leaders there.  People that are trying to win statehouses, trying to win mayors’ houses, that are actually trying to pave the way —

Folks, this is cart-and-horse stuff, chicken-and-egg.  One has to change before the things you think want to change is the institutions, even the use of language, manners and what have you, culture, in other words.  We don’t have a culture.  We have an anti-cult, which means we don’t have one.  Our cult is the State, by the way.  This changes at the level where it most directly affects you.   That’s where you have the greatest chance to be an influence, my friend.  Screaming at Speaker Boehner, screaming and yelling and threatening retribution at the polls against Boehner and all his buddies, or against Democrats, whoever, this is a Sisyphean endeavor.  How many of you know who Sisyphus was?  Eric, do you know who Sisyphus was?

Eric:  I cannot say I do.

Mike:  I bet you do.  Who sentenced him to a pit in Hades and told him: You can get out if you can get the boulder.  There’s a hill.  You have to roll the boulder all the way to the top of that hill.  If you get it to the top of that hill, we’ll let you go.  For his entire life, all he did was roll that boulder up the hill, only to get three-quarters of the way up and he’d slip and fall and the boulder would roll back down.  He is perpetually trying to roll a boulder up a hill.  That’s what this endeavor is. It is a Sisyphean endeavor.
