Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – “It doesn’t matter who you elect.  It does not matter, it will not matter, from now until the end of time, who you elect.  It will not matter what party they are from.  It will not matter what ideology they claim to ascribe to.  It won’t matter.  As long as there is a consolidated central authority, this is going to happen.  It’s going to happen with regularity.  You could say that it’s corrupt but it’s really not, in the sense that this is why those men desire such great powers.”  Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Mike:  We have busy phones here on the Keystone pipeline and who it is who’s paying for it to not be erected, a byproduct of a consolidated government.  Before I go to the phones, I just want to reiterate this, just so you understand this.  It doesn’t matter who you elect. You could say that it’s corrupt but it’s really not, in the sense that this is why those men desire such great powers.  They desire it so they can use it and so they can profit from it and so they can sell it, that’s exactly why.

This is also why the $3.8 trillion that we discussed earlier in the debt ceiling that’s about to be raised — we all know the end of the debt ceiling story.  Just forget about it.  You can call your rep if you want but they’re going to raise it.  There’s no one there that can stop it.  Disavow yourself of the notion that [mocking] “Our kids are gonna get in and they’re gonna hold the line.  They’re not gonna raise the debt ceiling.”  Oh, yes, they are!  I’ll bet you right now.  This is another byproduct of a consolidated government, especially after they have departed from a gold standard or from a standard of valuing the currency.  We don’t have any method of valuing our currency.  Our currency is valued at squat right now.  These things are going to happen.

So, fair listener, how would you avoid these pitfalls?  What is it that you could do to not have to endure this?  Those of you that are constantly asking for solutions, I give solutions all the time.  No one listens to them and they get pooh-poohed.  Or someone finds them and goes [mocking] “What kind of a traitor are you?”  The solution then is to not be a member state in a consolidated government, problem solved.  It can’t be that easy, Mike.  All right, convince yourself of that.  You go ahead over there.  I’m going to stick with my solution, or that’s one solution.  It’s not the only solution.  You go ahead and go out there and donate your little 25 bucks to Newt and follow the next election cycle.  Write me back in six years and tell me how that worked out.  I can’t wait to hear from you.

Patrick_Henry_American_Statesman_paperback_cover_DETAILWe had a caller yesterday, [mocking] “Mike, I’m about to end it all.  I don’t know what to do.  It’s helpless.  It’s hopeless.  It’s useless.  Nothing’s going right.  They just keep doing this and they just keep doing that.”  Well, if you don’t think there’s anything you can do about the “they,” is there something that you can do about the “you”?  I just turned the tables on the protagonist of our story.  If you feel helpless, David v. Goliath, for example, if you don’t think there’s anything you can do about the “they,” why not focus on what you can do about the “I” or the “you” instead of worrying about the “we”?  That really is the only advice.  Anyone that gives you any advice other than that, I think, is steering you in the wrong direction.

Bruce Frohnen, you’ve heard me mention him a lot lately.  He’s a professor and he moonlights as a writer at Nomocracy In Politics run by my buddy Pete Haworth, and at The Imaginative Conservative.  He has a take on this yesterday about how local politics is not perfect and it’s filled with Mugwump, chump change corrupticrats, but sorry, that’s all we’ve got.  I have it printed out and maybe we’ll get into it a little bit.

I think he’s put his finger on it.  It is all we’ve got.  After all, what else is there?  We’ve tried marches.  You’ve tried email campaigns.  You’ve tried remonstrations to your member of the House of Representatives and United States Senators.  What’s left?  There’s not going to be enough people that are going to march on Mordor to scare it into turning its tide.  What’s left?

There’s the David Simpson solution.  Just imagine you have commandeered yourself at the top of a hill, maybe like Monticello in Virginia — if you’ve ever been there you can relate — and that that’s your world.  That’s your kingdom.  This is what I have to worry about and what I have direct control over.  There’s not much else I can do.  I hear you and I sympathize with you.   You can’t give into the futility of the endeavor.  Besides, the cat is out of the proverbial bag.  He’s a really small cat and it’s a giant land, but as Tom Woods and I talked about — when Tom releases his YouTube video interview, I’ll let you know — yesterday, some of these ideas that you hear on this show and that you see on Tom’s site, these are new to a lot of people.

There are many, many people who have never heard these things before.  They’ve never been exposed to anything other than what’s on the 3×5 index card.  So that’s a positive, isn’t it?  They haven’t been exposed to people running about the countryside with pocket constitutions, right?  That’s a positive, isn’t it?  They haven’t been exposed to people becoming so intimately acquainted with men that are called the founding fathers.  That’s a positive, isn’t it?  They haven’t been exposed to and have never heard that secession is anything other than an illegal act of treason.  That’s a positive, isn’t it?  They’ve certainly never been exposed to the concept that a state in North America is the equal of a state in Europe.  It is a country in and of its own right.  It is a sovereign entity and can control its own governmental affairs as the people that make up that sovereignty dictate.  That’s a positive.  It may take a couple millennia for it to sink in, but these are positives.
