[reading]

In addition to [David] Kochel, who was expected to run the national campaign, Bush has hired Tim Miller, a star communications and research operative who is gay; longtime aide Sally Bradshaw, whose support for her pro-gay preacher recently showed up in a New York Times profile; and Mike Murphy, the veteran GOP consultant who joined other prominent Republicans in signing a 2013 brief calling on the Supreme Court to overturn California’s same-sex marriage ban, Proposition 8. What makes this band of operatives unique is not just that they support gay rights, but that many have made it their mission in the past to bring the party along with them.

[end reading]

Mike:  Again, what purpose then, excluding the golden rule of loving your neighbor, the adultering neighbor, and the homosexual neighbor, as Christ commanded us, what extent then or to what use does the national Republican Party now present itself to the Christian, or as we are derided as “social conservatives”?  They’re of no help at all, ladies and gentlemen.  Just understand this.  National politics are now totally in the play of the secularists.  They have one.  Congratulate yourself.  Pat yourself on the back.  Liberty, in the Descartes sense of the word, “I think therefore I am” god, you can take your rules and roll them up and you know what you can do with them, alleged creator.  We don’t need you any longer.

In national politics – this doesn’t mean that you still don’t wish for your member of Congress – while we have that thankless, feckless body still in operation – to do what is morally just and right.

[private FP-Monthly|FP-Yearly|FP-Yearly-WLK|FP-Yearly-So76]

They probably won’t, and they certainly aren’t going to as a party, even though some of them may insist to you that they are going to.  It doesn’t mean that you don’t wish for them to or pray for them to, but it is very unlikely that they will.  Therefore, battles that are going to be waged and conducted are going to be waged largely now in the community, in your home, in your home states, in your home cities.  We may be able to save some of the local parties.  There are some of you that are doing yeomen’s work out there.

I’m out of the practice now of mentioning peoples’ names and some of the work that they’re doing.  I don’t want to get into it.  I just won’t mention any names.  You know who you are.  You are doing yeomen’s work.  Congratulations.  Keep doing it.  I’m speaking of those that are working inside state parties that are working very diligently and putting a lot of labor into this.  Back to the story:

[reading]

With his team in place, Bush has attracted a wave of early support from many of the party’s most prominent gay rights advocates. Ken Mehlman, the former Republican National Committee chair who authored the Prop. 8 brief, has reportedly been introducing Bush to donors.

Mike:  I can still remember, when the court challenge was up for Proposition 8, Ken Mehlman showing up on television, on the Clinton News Network, with Rob Reiner, the famous liberal.  This is your Republican Party at work, by the bye.  People ask me: Why aren’t you a Republican anymore?  I’m still registered as one.  As Ronald Reagan said, he didn’t leave the Democrat Party, the Democrat Party left him.  Where has the Republican Party gone?  Back to the story:

[reading]

At least a dozen of the brief’s 80 signatories have either endorsed him, donated to him, or gone to work for him. Tom Ridge, the former Homeland Security secretary who regularly preaches LGBT . . .

Mike:  Remember, they only have four initials.  They got to get with the times.  There are 15 initials now.  You guys are behind.  You’re not very pro-sexual deviance, you Republicans.  You may think you are.  You’re missing eleven initials.

[reading]

Gay-Marriage. . . inclusion to his fellow Republicans . . . [Mike: Why have any aversion to any deviancy, any? I suppose sometime in the near future we’ll roll animals into this, bestiality. Maybe that’s what the B stands for.] has declared himself an enthusiastic Bush-backer.

Asked how Bush’s team might influence the way he approaches LGBT [Mike: Plus eleven.] issues in the campaign, spokeswoman Kristy Campbell said he has been primarily concerned with “picking the most talented staff available,” and that, “Gov. Bush’s position on gay marriage is clear. If he pursues a run, it will be premised on his agenda and views, not anyone else’s.” [Mike:  Not anyone else’s, including Almighty God’s? Really?]

Bush’s official stance is that he believes marriage should be between a man and a woman, and that states should have the right to craft their own laws on the matter, free of tampering from federal courts.

[end reading]

Mike:  May I also say to you at this point in time, ladies and gentlemen, that believing that the secular law of your individual state has the right and should make these marriage equality statements is also a losing – we’re erecting miniature ramparts.  We’re going to hide behind them and shoot some rock salt and some gunpowder at an advancing enemy that is diabolus himself – that the state is equally not qualified to make that determination, only if it makes that determination in subsidiarity to the eternal law of Almighty God.  Then the state would be correct and it’s worth defending.  Most states are not making that determination in that manner.  This is why we have legislators and judges that cannot find the moral tenacity to stick with the program, to defend the marriage act, to defend it to the end, to refuse any acquiescence, none.  You don’t give in at all.  If you do, it has been because you have been forced or compelled to.

This may sound like a stoic and untenable and “come on, Mike, you gotta get with the times” position, but, folks, we’re talking about souls here.  You’re talking about the longevity or the restoration of what should be the long-lived moral code.  There is no bargaining place here.  This is the problem.  There has been too much bargaining already.  John Taylor of Caroline County wrote to James Monroe.  You can find this in my book John Taylor of Carolina County – American Statesman.  He wrote to Monroe and said: It’s ridiculous to believe we can let the nose of tyranny under the tent and believe that it will not corrupt the rest of the tent.  You can’t let it in.  Once you’ve let it in, it is the cancer that we spoke of at the top of this monologue.

[reading]

If, as many observers expect, the Supreme Court rules this June to extend marriage rights to all same-sex couples nationwide . . .

[end reading]

Mike:  Again, where does the court get the authority to do this? From whence does the authority come?  They’re going to claim: They have the authority under the Constitution.  No, they don’t.  They have the authority under the Constitution to resolve a dispute under the Constitution.  They do not have the authority to amend it, and they do not have the authority to craft out of thin air – see Roe v. Wade and all the rest of them – they do not have the authority to craft legislation, to craft acts or moral codes and laws.  That is not their authority.  The proper response to a Supreme Court decision of this magnitude would be to ignore it, to tell the court: You don’t have any authority in this state, in this community.  We’re going to reject you.

Think about this.  What position does that put then Holy Mother Catholic Church in, and all the other churches that stand on the side of man, woman, get married, come see the parson or come see the priest and get married?  What position does that then put the clergy into?  It sets them up, in the very near future and in the flock that the clergy shepherds, it sets them up to become martyrs.  How are you going to enforce this?  Are we going to build homosexual conscientious objector prisons?  Folks, we’re at the gates of hell.  This is the end of the moral order, it’s the end of it.  This will unleash a maelstrom of immorality that is not imaginable today.  You cannot imagine it.  You know why?  Because you never lived at the time of Emperor Nero or at the time Jerusalem was invaded and destroyed, as Christ predicted, by the Roman Titus, or at the time of Sodom and Gomorrah.

Folks, before you give up the ghost and surrender on this, remember, there is a precedent for this.  God is very merciful.  Remember, he gave Noah 100 years.  He told Noah: Go out and preach and go tell all those imbeciles out there, those horn-dog, fornicating, sinning, adultering imbeciles that they better stop or I will have my way.  I will have my law.  I will bind upon them a punishment that they are due if they do not alter their course.  For 100 years Noah preached what God told him to preach, 100 years.  Before you think that you should surrender on this for political expediency and you’ve got to get with the times, etc., etc., it is Noah that is remembered as holy in [/private]

the Old Testament, in the book of the Holy Bible.  It is Noah’s name that is remembered.  None of those that perished in the flood are remembered.  They’re a statistic.  Remember that.  For 100 years, Noah did what God commanded him to do.  While he was building his ark, he was going out and telling everyone that would either listen or not listen to him: You better stop.  I’ve been told – you see that ark over there?  This is not just my hobby time project here.  This is not so I can get on the do-it-yourself channel.  I was told that I better build this thing and I better invite all the holy people I can find and a bunch of animals, two by two, because God is going to bring a great, destructive flood because you guys won’t stop doing what you’re doing.  Remember that.

[reading]

But inside Bush’s orbit, some believe his personal feelings on the subject may have evolved beyond his on-the-record statements. Three Republican supporters who have recently spoken with Bush as he’s blitzed the GOP fundraising circuit told BuzzFeed News they came away with the impression that on the question of marriage equality, he was supportive at best and agnostic at worst.

Mike:  So what does this also mean if Bush is to be the standard-bearer – to me this is – folks, I don’t even know why they’re going to have a campaign.  This is a foregone conclusion, as I told Andrew Wilkow on Friday’s broadcast.  Keep this number in the back of your head: half a billion dollars.  Who is capable of raising half a billion dollars?  One candidate and one only I think, Jebediah Bush.  That is why he will ultimately be the nominee.  This is the future then of the Republican Party, sad but true.
