Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – We love to call those guys who were denied access to the World War II Memorial the greatest generation, even though I say that the generation of men born between 1750 and 1780 were probably the greatest generation.  I mean no offense to the great generation of the last century.  We call them the greatest generation.  Why?  Why do we call them that, for what reason?  Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Mike:  We love to call those guys who were denied access to the World War II Memorial the greatest generation, even though I say that the generation of men born between 1750 and 1780 were probably the greatest generation.  I mean no offense to the great generation of the last century.  We call them the greatest generation.  Why?  Why do we call them that, for what reason?  Because they were a bunch of money-grubbing, selfish punks?  Or is it because they were selfless and when their country said: We hate to tell you this, but you’re going to have to sacrifice a million or so of your lives and go to this place called Okinawa and this place called Iwo Jima and this place called Guadalcanal and all the other horrific killing fields of the Pacific theater, yeah, you’re going to have to go over there and a lot of you aren’t coming back.  But these Japanese guys, they’ve got to be stopped.  They’re a threat.  Oh, and by the way, while you’re gone, your wives and your children and your mom and them are going to have to suffer, too.  We’re going to be collecting bacon grease and pennies.  Anyone that has any money under a mattress, we’re going to ask them to buy a bond to finance the effort.  In other words, you guys are going to have to sacrifice.  It’s going to pay off for the future generations in freedom and what have you.

Patrick_Henry_American_Statesman_paperback_cover_DETAILHere in 2013, we’re beyond asking anyone to ever make a sacrifice.  We’ve got Wal-Marts that are steamrolled by an entitled lot that believe what is on the shelves is theirs for the taking because their government told them they could take it via this vehicle called the EBT card.  Not to focus all the firepower on the entitled poor, but what about the entitled wealthy?  Are they part of the not-greatest generation?  This generation is most certainly the not-greatest period, as Jeff Daniels said, ever in history.  All the wealthy aren’t going to take a hit.  [mocking] “We can’t have our stocks go down.  We can’t have our 401ks go down.”  That’s what we’re told if we don’t increase debt ceilings, if we don’t continue spending trillions of dollars that don’t exist in endeavors that many people agree are wasteful.  We can’t be asked as this generation to be the next in line of a great American generation and actually take the hit and suck it up and stop whining about it.  Oh, no, that’s way beyond us.  There’s still a spot in the driveway left to be filled with a car I’m going to finance and buy next week.  I have an actual wall in my house that does not have a 40-plus-inch flat panel television on it.  I can’t live like this.  There are about two freezers out there loaded down with meat that I’m never going to eat, but I need a third freezer, and I need to fill it up.  I have yet begun to enjoy my sporting life and tailgating.

Suffer the ignominious fate of living within our own means?  Poppycock.  Blasphemy is what it is, what I just said.  No one that calls themselves conservative should advocate it either.  What you should do is join the cacophonous crowd and scream and yell for more childishness, more irresponsibility, more unconstitutionality and just enjoy the ride.  You know what?  This is the deck of cards.  This is the hand that we were dealt.  Really?  So for those that say it’s the law of the land and this is the way it is because it’s the law of the land, I seem to recall great episodes in American history when the law of the land was challenged and was outright repealed, done away with.  But that would take a great generation of men, and, of course, women today, too.  Watching the women in the United States Senate, along with the men, you get the idea that not only is there not a great generation here, but we may indeed be the worst generation.  All the evidence you need is going to be on television, radio and the internet today.  All you have to do is turn it on, just turn it on.
