No David, It Is Not Courageous, It’s a Scandalous Outrage – I normally find David Harsanyi’s work at the Federalist moderate and insightful, that was then this is now. Harsanyi’s take that Ted Cruz’s scandalous, oath breaking, pride drenched denunciation of Donald Trump is an act of courage is just as outrageous. Cruz signed a pledge to endorse his party’s nominee if given the chance to do so at the RNC instead, a man who is probably not even eligible to hold the United States Senate seat he holds from Texas and is most certainly NOT ELIGIBLE for the presidency, chose to harangue Trump and the aduience about who is a “constitutional candidate”, well it cannot possibly be Cruz. Those cheering Cruz like the GOP hack David Frum, cheer him through the lens that anyone who opposes Trump must be lion hearted and have a bright future. Hey David, would you go into business, trust your daughter’s virginity or your wife’s dry cleaning with Ted Cruz after he signed a “pledge” to do so? Based on what evidence? Cruz is a prideful demagogue who makes a theatrical mockery of “conservatism” and he’s a liar. To lie your way onto someone else’s primetime stage is not an act of “courage”, David, it is an act of cowardice and deceit.

Last night, Cruz proved me right and even the reliably moderate “conservative” Townhall.com knows it. “Well, now he’s the man who’s in that position because he wasn’t invited to the party. The Texas senator sees himself as a conservative rampart against a rising progressive tide. He’s made being an uncompromising conservative his brand. So, in a way, not endorsing Trump because he’s not a conservative Republican falls in line with that mindset.”
