Mandeville, LA – Exclusive Transcript – I would think that any man or woman of good conscience and that holds near and dear that cherished jewel, as Henry called it, of liberty would not only be alarmed by this but would be spurred into action.  Alarm won’t do anything; action will.  Pitchforks and torches are called for here.  Just assume then that all of us have been eavesdropped on.  Every single one of us has been violated.  We have been violated because we are citizens of the United States.  We have been violated because we have a government that is no longer constrained, under any circumstances, by anything.  Check out today’s transcript for the rest…

Mike:  Recapping the big news of the day, it has been reported by the Guardian newspaper that Verizon Wireless was ordered, in April, to surrender all phone records of all 121 million customers to the National Security Agency under the Patriot Act, a judge signed off on.  This is a massive, massive subpoena, basically, and it was made under the aegis of the Patriot Act.  But we were told by decepticons and neocons and frauds that call themselves conservatives, who I guess stopped being simple libertarians a long time ago: Nothing to worry about in the Patriot Act, man.  You guys need to lighten up.  You libertarian nuts, you need to calm down.  Besides, what do you have to fear?  If you haven’t done anything wrong, so what they turned your records over to the government?  Big deal!  Big deal?

AG:  What do you think about Al Gore tweeting out how outraged he is at the Verizon scoop?  I would also make the assumption that Sprint and AT&T are in the deal as well, it just hasn’t been released yet.  When we talked to Glenn Greenwald a couple weeks ago, you asked him the question about different groups of political ideology that you wouldn’t associate being together on issues like nonintervention coming together, the Pat Buchanans, the libertarian marijuana/drug crowd, the left-wing anti-war crowd.  Are we going to start to see a similar kind of amalgamation of groups on issues like the IRS, like these phone taps, that sort of thing, where you’d see an Al Gore agreeing with a guy like Rand Paul in situations where you wouldn’t expect that previously?

This is what a free society does?  Basically then, if you work for the NSA or Congress or the IRS, you’re innocent.  You are the oligarch.  You are the elite.  You are on the side of royalty.  You are kingship.  You’re innocent, in other words.  Even if you commit an atrocity, you’re still innocent.  But all the rest of us, the peasantry, the hoi polloi out here, we’re all guilty until proven innocent.  All of our activities are suspect, and, therefore, for our own protection and safety, they must be analyzed, must be cataloged, must be categorized, must now be assigned to some bureaucratic spook in some faraway alabaster-clad building. They just opened the new data center up in Utah.  Now we know what they’re doing with it.  Now we know exactly what the six — it’s not terabytes.  Is it zettabytes?  We now know why they needed the six zettabytes of storage capacity.  They needed it so that they can spy on every single living one of us.

If this doesn’t cause — seriously citizen Church to citizen Sirius XM listener, and to the world reading this transcript later today at MikeChurch.com, if this isn’t a final straw that causes people of good conscience who have in their hearts a desire to live free from this manufactured tyranny that we have allowed to envelop all of us, if this doesn’t spur you to action — I don’t mean calling your member of Congress up and screaming at them.  I don’t mean going to a Tea Party and saying: I’m signing your petition.  Just like our forefathers all throughout the latter part of the 1760s and all throughout the early part of the 1770s petitioned and petitioned and petitioned, asked for redress of grievance after redress of grievance, sent envoys over to the parliament: Please, allow us either to participate in your shenanigans while you’re taxing and regulating us, or stop taxing and regulating us and let us do it ourselves.  After they were willfully ignored time after time after time, there were some, we call them patriots today, that said: That’s it, I’m out.  We’ve had it.  Why would you want to reconcile with a monstrous beast that acts in the manner in which this beast has acted?  I am seriously — I said last hour I’m flabbergasted but I wasn’t surprised.  I have to say that I actually am, now that it’s really sinking in.  I really am surprised.

I want to read something to you, June 1, 1798, Thomas Jefferson writing to John Taylor of Caroline.  This is while the Alien and Sedition Acts are being debated in Congress and Jefferson is Vice President of the United States.  Bear in mind, he is the acting Vice President of the United States.  He writes this to Taylor:

[reading]

republican-shirt-ifyouhavetoask1It is true that we are completely under the saddle of Massachusets and Connecticut, and that they ride us very hard, insulting our feelings, as well as exhausting our strength and substance. Their natural friends, the three other eastern states, join them from a sort of family pride, and they have the art to divide certain other parts of the Union, so as to make use of them to govern the whole. This is not new. It is the old practice of despots to use a part of the people to keep the rest in order, and those who have once got an ascendency and possessed themselves of all the resources of the nation, their revenues and offices, have immense means for retaining their advantages. But our present situation is not a natural one. The republicans through every part of the Union say that it was the irresistable influence & popularity of Gen’l Washington, played off by the cunning of Hamilton, which turned the government over to anti-republican hands, or turned the republican members, chosen by the people, into anti-republicans. He delivered it over to his successor in this state, and very untoward events, since improved with great artifice, have produced on the public mind the impression we see; but still, I repeat it, this is not the natural state. Time alone would bring round an order of things more correspondent to the sentiments of our constituents; but are there not events impending which will do it within a few months? The crisis with England, the public and authentic avowal of sentiments hostile to the leading principles of our Constitution, the prospect of a war in which we shall stand alone, land-tax, stamp-tax, increase of public debt, &c. Be this as it may, in every free & deliberating society there must, from the nature of man, be opposite parties & violent dissensions & discords; and one of these, for the most part, must prevail over the other for a longer or shorter time. Perhaps this party division is necessary to induce each to watch & delate to the people the proceedings of the other. But if on a temporary superiority of the one party, the other is to resort to a scission of the Union, no federal government can ever exist. If to rid ourselves of the present rule of Massachusets & Connecticut we break the Union, will the evil stop there?

Mike:  Then Jefferson goes on to describe why he thinks that we must do what we can to try and preserve the Union.  He concludes with:

I had rather keep our N. England associates for that purpose than to see our bickerings transferred to others. They are circumscribed within such narrow limits, & their population so full, that their numbers will ever be the minority, and they are marked, like the Jews, with such a perversity of character as to constitute from that circumstance the natural division of our parties. A little patience, and we shall see the reign of witches pass over, their spells dissolve, and the people, recovering their true sight, restore their government to its true principles. It is true that in the mean time we are suffering deeply in spirit, and incurring the horrors of a war & long oppressions of enormous public debt. But who can say what would be the evils of a scission, and when & where they would end? Better keep together as we are, hawl off from Europe as soon as we can, & from all attachments to any portions of it. And if they show their power just sufficiently to hoop us together, it will be the happiest situation in which we can exist.

[end reading]

Mike:  If you fast forward from 1798 to 1822, Jefferson, after having seen that even after his election, the subsequent election of Madison, the subsequent election of Madison, the subsequent election of James Monroe, that the reign of witches did not end, it just changed names.  Then when the Missouri Compromise is agreed to, Jefferson then throws his hands up in the air, throws Union out the window and basically says that the knell of the union is near.  These words about staying together are ultimately erased with what actually happened in front of his very eyes over the course of the next 20 years.  Just to put an exclamation point on his fear that Adams and company will come after him, he adds a post scriptum to his letter to John Taylor.

It is hardly necessary to caution you to let nothing of mine get before the public. A single sentence, got hold of by the Porcupines, will suffice to abuse & persecute me in their papers for months.

Mike:  Jefferson might have counseled calm, but that would have been after the revelations of the 1930s and 1940s.  I would hazard a guess that he would be in that station of life that he was in in 1775 and 1776.  In 1774, if you watch my movie Road to Independence, there’s a scene in which Jefferson is having lunch with George Washington, Patrick Henry, and George Mason.  This is in July of 1774.  Jefferson is arguing on behalf of continuing the royal union.  Jefferson’s saying: Wait a minute, guys.  Hold on.  We can’t just break away from the king and Great Britain.  We can’t do that.  Look, we have laws on our side that they have written.  We can make them obey them.  Of course, a mere two years later, there he was writing the Declaration of Independence.

Even though there will be those among us who say: We’ve got to work this out.  Come on, Mike, what do you have to hide?  What’s the big deal?  You knew they were going to do this.  This is what they do.  This is what we hired them to do.  We have a federal government that is so drunk with its own perverted power that it thinks it is necessary and prudent to spy on every single citizen that has an electronic phone device, really?  If there are citizens out there of that stripe, ladies and gentlemen, they are then doing the bidding and instigating and fanning the flames of control of the reign of witches, as Jefferson called it.
