Sue Ellen Browder:  You wanted to talk about why Hillary is wrong when she says that she’s standing up for women.

Mike:  That’s right.  That’s exactly what I wanted to talk about because it’s all over the news now.  It’s going to be all over the news from now until November, unfortunately.  I said: Wait a minute, I know somebody that could speak authoritatively about this.  Let me call Sue Ellen.

Browder:  We’re going to be talking about it in January at the March for Life.  It’s why the pro-life women’s movement is the authentic women’s movement of the 21st century.  I’m going to give you a little background on that.  What people don’t realize is that the early feminists were pro-life; the suffragists who gave women the right to vote were pro-life.  That is the branch of the women’s movement that gave us the right to vote.  The pro-life branch of the women’s movement, what I call pro-family feminism, is the branch of the women’s movement that launched the second wave feminism in 1960 before it was hijacked by the pro-abortionists.

We’ve talked about that, in the Chinese Room of the Mayflower Hotel on November 18, 1967 when a very small handful of people hijacked the women’s movement and inserted abortion as a right into their bill of rights.  There were only 100 people in the room that night, and only 57 people voted to insert abortion into the women’s movement.  One-third of those very fervent feminists walked out and later formed other organizations, pro-life organizations.  They walked out of the National Organization for Women over the abortion vote.  They formed pro-life women’s organizations.

Let me tell you what those pro-life women’s organizations did in the 1970s.  This is the branch of the women’s movement that opened up academia to women.  They forced newspapers to stop running “help wanted male” and “help wanted female” ads in the classified ads.  They fought for school sports programs in high schools and colleges.  They kept women from being fired for being pregnant by pushing for the passage of the Pregnancy Discrimination Act of 1978.  These were pro-life women who actually were feminists and did all of this behind the scenes.  I think it’s safe to say that the pro-life feminist movement did a whole lot of the work, and the pro-abortion feminist movement took most of the credit.

Mike:  When you say they took most of the credit, look at the credit that they’re taking today, Sue Ellen.

Browder:  Yes, they’re still doing it because they don’t – we have not talked about what happened in that Chinese Room that night in the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC when the feminism movement was hijacked by the abortionists.

Mike:  What I was going to say is, if you look at what they’re taking credit for today, they’re taking credit for the continuing slaughter of tens of millions of American children.  That’s what they want credit for.  To them, freedom is the freedom to go out and forego marriage but undergo all sorts of sexual relations and liaisons of people that they’re not married to.  If children is the consequence or the result of that, it’s not really the consequence and result of that because feminism today, to them, says: I don’t have to have the baby, you can’t make me have it, so I have the right to kill it.  That’s what they’re taking credit for today.  They’re quite proud of this and so is Mrs. Clinton.

Sue Ellen BrowderBrowder:  What they don’t understand is the women’s movement at that point was hijacked by the sexual revolution.  Remember, I wrote for Cosmopolitan Magazine.  In the early days, when I worked for Cosmo in the early ‘70s, it was very clear that the women’s movement and the sexual revolution were two radically different movements.  Cosmopolitan would have loved to have been part of the women’s movement.  Betty Friedan caused Cosmo, quite obscene and quite horrible.  What happened behind the scenes and was never reported, which I spent five years digging into this research.  I wrote this book Subverted.  Let’s talk about the book, Subverted: How I Helped the Sexual Revolution Hijack the Women’s MovementI wrote this book and that’s how I found out: How did those two get joined together?  I was very, very curious.  I spent five years looking into it.

The pro-abortion – it was one man, really.  He was a very fervent pro-abortionist.  His name is Larry Lader.   He was good friends with Betty Friedan.   He convinced Betty Friedan that she had to insert abortion and contraception as one of her bill of rights for the National Organization for Women if her other rights were going to be accepted.  The only right we’re still fighting over today that was inserted into that women’s movement was abortion.  All the other rights women have achieved.  Equality in education, women can go to law school and medical school now; women’s sports.  All these things that women wanted in those days have come to pass.  The abortion issue was falsely inserted into the women’s movement and we’re still paying the price.  I’ll be honest with you, Hillary doesn’t know what she’s doing.  She’s defending the sexual revolution when she’s calling it the women’s movement.  She doesn’t know what she’s doing.  She’s literally – it’s a very sad thing.  Here’s a very powerful woman who has been also hijacked, if you will.

Mike:  Sue Ellen Browder, author of Subverted: How I Helped the Sexual Revolution Hijack the Women’s Movement is my special guest again.  We are always – not only are we honored by Sue Ellen taking time out of prayer this morning to stop by, but I always so much enjoy talking to Sue Ellen.  I could talk to her all day long.  No matter what I ask her, she has a great answer for.  Staying on the subject of Hillary for just a moment here, the next card that’s going to be played is the: pitiful me, look at me, I’m just a dainty damsel in distress and here’s this big, bad behemoth Donald Trump coming in and screaming at me with his big hairdo.  Everyone should vote for me so we can advance my cause of women’s rights, etc., etc.  I know you want to talk about that.

Browder:  We’ve got to – the pro-life women’s movement has got to get our – these women are really fighting this back now.  We’ve got all sorts of women’s movements that are trying to fight this and saying: No, to be pro-life is to be pro-woman.  We’ve got to get that out.  Women have got to get this message out.  Here’s the deal, Mike.  This is the amazing thing.  We have the grassroots organizations already in this country, pro-lifers do.  We’ve got the ground.  In 1979 we had it.  In 1979, the National Organization for Women, the pro-abortion organizations had 100,000 members, and the National Right to Life Committee had 11 million.  We’ve got the ground.  We can do this.  We’re going into Washington this month.  We’re going to be marching hundreds of thousands strong against Roe v Wade, which was that little paper god that they’ve got there, that they worship.  We’re going to bring that sucker down because it’s based on lies, half-truth, selected truth, and truth out of context.  All pro-life women and men in this country need to claim that we are speaking for women everywhere.  We are the women’s movement.  They’re not.

Mike:  I wrote this down because I wanted to be able to quote this back.  “Hillary thinks she’s talking about the women’s movement but she’s actually talking about and defending the sexual revolution.”

Browder:  That’s right.  She’s defending the sexual revolution.  If she knew what had happened in that Mayflower Hotel that night, if she knew how much the women’s movement was hijacked by the sexual revolution, she would be backing off on this abortion thing.  Probably not now.  She’s too locked into it now.  She’s too old.

Mike:  She is a founding mother.  She is a founding mother gal-qaeda, no doubt.

Browder:  One thing that I’m going to be saying here in Washington at the March for Life, we need to ask ourselves – there’s a battle going on in our country over a woman’s personhood.  Are a woman and her baby radically separate, totally independent individuals whose rights are at war with each other as Hillary would claim, the view of personhood that was enshrined of Roe v Wade?  Or are a woman and her baby a unity of two persons, interconnected in love with everyone and everything?  We know the answer to that.

Whatever harms the baby harms the mother.  Whatever harms the mother harms the baby.  Whatever harms either of them harms us all.  Hillary is saying that her rights are at war with her baby’s rights.  No, they’re not.

Mike:  What’s fascinating to me – I always marvel with great humility and wonder: Why me?  You’re talking about going to the Right to Life march in, as I call it Mordor on the Potomac River, in Washington at the end of this month.  I am doing a conference call today with the men that are the executives who run the website LifeSiteNews.

Browder:  Oh good!

Mike:  You know John-Henry Westen.  I’m sure you know Dustin Siggins.

Browder:  I know the name but I don’t know him personally.

Mike:  You’ll get to meet him, I’m sure, at the Right to Life march.  Anyway, that’s the subject of our conversation of LifeSiteNews and Crusade Channel and the Mike Church Show working together to help promote and bring much of what y’all are going to be doing at the march to the people.

Browder:  Oh boy!  We’re going to have some fun.

Mike:  When I tell them today that I talked to Sue Ellen Browder today, and she’s actually going.  Are you going with a group to go speak?

Browder:  No, I’m the keynote speaker at the March for Life convention the day before.

Mike:  Really?

Browder:  Yes, I’m the keynote speaker.

Mike:  Don’t forget your grandson here.  Come on.

Browder:  My topic is going to be why the pro-life women’s movement is the authentic women’s movement of the 21st century.

Mike:  I was on the fence of whether or not I was actually going to travel to go and try and pull this off.  Now that I know you’re the keynote speaker, Ellen, I’m going to have to go.

Browder:  I’m not the keynote at the rose dinner.  That’s the night of the march.  I’m at the convention the day before, 9:00 in the morning.  Be there.

Mike:  If I can, I will.  I’d broadcast the darn thing if I could get there and get it all worked out.

[/private]

Browder:  That would be wonderful.

Mike:  I’d have to talk to – I’ll ask the LifeSiteNews guys.  Anyway, that’s my intention.  Let me move on.  Sue Ellen Browder, the author of Subverted: How I Helped the Sexual Revolution Hijack the Women’s Movement and my first guest ever here on the Crusade Channel back in the early days of November is my guest again.  Sue Ellen, you said there are women out there that call themselves feminists today, but they have moved on and are promoting – and many of them are journalists – and they are promoting and writing about authentic feminism, which authentic feminism to me is authentic when it involves motherhood.

Browder:  That’s right.  That’s exactly.

Mike:  I say that with – I got asked this question once upon a time by a very charismatic, movement-involved Evangelical Protestant woman.  She was very pro-death, very culture of choice.  She asked me how I could in good conscience be a member of the Catholic Church when women were brutalized and discriminated against and hated and shuddered into closets and thrown into basements with their legs strapped together for nine months so they could pop out kids.  When your enemies get to describe what you are, this is what you get.

At the end of it I told her – I don’t know if it had any effect on her.  I said: Susie, how could you possibly say that?  Either you don’t know and you’re ignorant, or you choose to not know – how could you possibly say that when for Catholics – I don’t use the term traditional Catholic.  I’m just going to say Catholic, Orthodox Catholic.  The most venerable saint ever is a woman.  Her name is Mary.  There are entire prayers and books and whole orders that are founded upon Mary and devotion and Mary and commitment.  I myself have consecrated myself through – I’m struggling for the name.  Through St. Louis de Montfort as a Marian.  How could you possibly say – of course, she had no answer other than to roll her eyes: Yeah, so says you.  Some kind of role that is.  Some kind of role that is?  What moves me to talk about this and to come out of the closet as a Marian, which I have in the last year, and hopefully lead other men to, I don’t know any men that don’t venerate and love their mothers.

Browder:  That’s right.

Mike:  When we hear the story of Michael Jordan, we hardly ever hear about Michael Jordan’s father, but there are books and movies written about his mother.  The mothers are strong.  We venerate her.  We love our mothers.  We’re close to our mothers, which is why when we want to get close to our Lord, there’s a good way to do it.
